I first came to Durango Animal Hospita in October 2014 for my lil Bengal girl. She had what looked to be an abscess on her face and was in an extreme amount of pain. They pulled some infected teeth, gave her some antibiotics and told us she would be fine. 30 days later (November 2014), we were back in their office for the exact same abscess! They put a small drainage hole in the side of her face, took a sample of the infection to be analyzed to supposedly find the exact antibiotic to use, and sent her home. A couple days later, we were in their office AGAIN. This time with our other Bengal. For the same swollen abscess! The Doctor assumed that the two had gotten in a fight so again a drain was put in place, antibiotics were given (before the analysis from the sample was received), pain meds were dispensed and she was sent home. We had to make a payment arrangement as we had already paid close to $1000 in 30 days for this same problem. Guess what? 30 days later (December 2014) it appeared for a third time. Called Durango Animal Hospital and know what they told us? Because we have an outstanding balance they refused to treat her again. How can they do that?! They have now been paid close to $1200 for two cats, for the same infection, and they are still sick!!! They told my husband to put a warm compress on her face to draw out the infection (the drainage hole they had placed in her face hadn't even finished healing yet so the infection burst through). Today I used a warm compress on her face and this time a huge chunk of skin came off her face! It literally looks as though this infection is eating her skin away. My other Bengal also looks as though the infection is coming back and her face is swelling up. I cannot help but feel that had they waited for the results of the testing they did on the infection coming from her face and given her the correct antibiotic that we wouldn't be going through this AGAIN and my cat wouldn't be suffering like this. I will be making them an appointment with another vet as it is perfectly clear that Durango Animal Hospital is more interested in making money off their patients with repeat visits for the same problem than they are with actually helping an obviously sick animal.

Our entire extended family have been using the Durango Animal Hospital for years. Thru this time we have experienced a number of common and uncommon pet events. From our 8 week old puppy becoming VERY ill after being fed all the lasagne our granddaughter did not want to finish, to the usual pet vaccinations and grooming appointments. NEVER have our pets and a bad experience. My husband and I have rescued our last 3 dogs and even these animals show no signs of stress when being dealt with by the front office staff, groomers, vet assistants and vets. Our dogs are happy when they arrive and happy when they leave. This says a lot when you are dealing with animals who have been severely abused before they come into your possession. Finally, the prices. We have lived in Las Vegas since 1988. During this time we have used many vet clinics. Durango Animal Clinic is the first and only to consider that sometimes cost is a huge consideration. Their prices are not only fair, but lower than any other clinic we have used. So, if a clean, efficient, prompt, kind, gentle, understanding and reasonable clinic is what you are looking for, you've found it.

Have been going here for almost the past 10 years. Have taken both cats and dogs to a handful of different doctors here and I haven't been disappointed, except when one doctor moves on. Either I've been lucky or they tend to bring in some good vets. I've rarely had issues with my pets, but they've helped decide when it was time to let my cat go and took care of some cancer on my boxer and when they knew more expertise was needed, they recommended an allergy specialist to determine my current dogs issues when all remedies were used up. I did hit the allergy vet and we discovered his allergies but I am still on the final (expensive) pills the Durango vet prescribed. Luckily Costco has great prices and I feel bad for not purchasing then thru DAH. I do try to support small companies as much as possible, just not on this one medication. Time to update my boy's shots and get a checkup so I figured I'd toss in a review.

I love this place, i take all my dogs here. Hopefully they will fire Dr. Raymond, as she cowered in fear when i brought in my 4 month old golden retriever. If you are afraid of dogs you shouldn't be a vet. common sense isn't too common obviously.

They were great with our puppy. This was the first vet we used in the valley and they were more than great. Unfortunately we moved across town but we really miss Durango Animal Hospital. Hope to see you guys in the future. Keep up the good work.
