Animal Care Vet "Clinics", Blacktown, Chester Hill and Chelsea Veterinary hospitals. I will be speaking facts. Hires untrained staff, expects non qualified veterinary nurses to know duties of a qualified Veterinary nurse, when they get things wrong they get yelled at over and over. Hires new grad veterinarians and expects nurses to show them the ropes. If new grads make mistakes owner (aka Shiyamala Sivaji) will yell at them and blame them. Dr Shiyamala is meant to observe and train new grads instead she places them in her other 2 clinics Chester Hill and Chelsea Vet and expects them to run things. They always change staff (Highest complaint working for them from clients) Over priced products and services. Poor service from all involved. IMPORTANT: puppy farm is located under Animal Care Veterinary Hospital- Blacktown in the garage, Dr Shiyamala Sivaji constantly breeds french bulldogs. Business name for this was sharmbritty. I have photo which i acquired during my time at animal care vet which have been passed on to AWL, RSPCA and AVA. The Blacktown Clinic should be avoided at all cost, it is very unclean, Your dog is more likely to catch parvovirus attending this practice then being in direct contact with a dog with parvo itself. Again; Most of the staff working at all three clinics are not well trained. Nurses to the Veterinarians (not the new grads faults). Most of the nurse are work experience students left unattended to treat your animal. These people do surgeries with untrained nurses watching your animals. They do not know how to spot emergencies. All Dr. Shiyamala cares about is money, crying over the phone to her nurses and vets about not having enough to pay staff, blaming it on staff. (Causing a vet to develop depression for consistent bullying from Dr shiyamala) I am sure they will pull this comment down or say "they say bad things cause i fired them" but not in this case. I left. To Nerissa or the person claiming to be nerissa i am disappointed you would stick up for these people. I give these practices a -10. Would not recommend.

I was working as a vet nurse over the last year and a half at this clinic with Dr Sivaji and other veterinarians in the practice. The amount of work and compassion towards the safety and welfare of patients was always of upmost quality and the amount of attention to each individual and their needs met wherever possible. On my shifts, I always made sure i knew all the patients cases, all animals had clean cages after staying overnight/throughout the day and before I left in the evenings, food and water given to those that could, any medications/drips were all dispensed and working etc etc. Cleaning and Animal attendance is never ending for vet nurses! As to a couple of reviews i see of work experience girls having a bad experience - To the girls (or anyone who wants to work here or at ANY VET) and KNOW they have no experience and you were asked to perform a task you weren't confident with, speak up and tell the person your working under you dont know how/need help or are not ready to do such a task, work experience is about learning, you have to be willing to try, and i know its hard sometimes and sorry for those who had a bad experience... this vet is fast paced and we do get alot of emergencies to deal with due to being 24 hours.

Called on a Sunday afternoon after I found a dog on a busy road. They told me if it is not microchipped to contact the council. Ridiculous considering it was a Sunday afternoon. I know it may cost your business money, but aren't you supposed to be there for the welfare for animals. No compassion whatsoever! Am glad I took the dog somewhere else. Couldn't imagine the treatment you would give it

Definitely wouldn't come back to this vet. Have taken my two dogs there and both had horrible experiences. The vet here is only concerned with payment and not at all with your pet. The vet has no communication skills and does not discuss or explain your pet's condition with you or any treatments that your pet will need. Also, my new puppy (8 weeks old) spent a night at this hospital, and me being a worried mum, I called the vet the next morning to see how my puppy was going. She told me that she would call me back as she was busy. I didn't hear from the vet so I turned up at the hospital at 12noon and was told off for turning up to see my puppy. I thought that this was unacceptable. We are paying for the services and we are entitled to check up on our pet if the vet doesn't provide us with any updates. The treatment room for your pet is dark and dingy and an overall horrible experience for any animal. I decided that this is not the kind of vet I want looking after my puppy and at that moment and I took my puppy with me (who was on a drip) and went to another vet hospital (Pendle Hill) and the service there was impeccable. Avoid this Blacktown vet at all costs.

I had a very similar experience to Diana (the reviewer below me) and I know that this has happened to a number of girls. I was also hired with no experience, and constantly asked to do things which I had never done before, often unsupervised. When I arrived at the clinic for work a number of times, the cages were absolutely filthy and I noticed that the cats had sometimes been fed dog food - I mentioned this issue to Shama but it continued. Shama is extremely rude to clients - at one point she went out of her way to actually call a client and yell at him for questioning how his dog had been cared for. Another thing I remember is the time where I was working with another vet at night and we had two dogs come in as emergencies, which needed their conditions monitored. Sharma was out at a party and was not answering her phone, so the other vet and I stayed until we managed to contact her a few hours later. She told us to go home, meaning the dogs would be there unmonitored! If you love your animal please do not take it here - it will be looked after either a vet who doesn't care about it, or a staff member who may have the best intentions but no experience or proper training.
