The staff upon entering are very friendly and happy to help, but I found out today that it was all just to suck up and get a bigger paycheck. THEY ARE THIEVES. THEY ARE SWINDLERS. DO NOT GO HERE. After finding a lump on my dogs stomach I went to Campsie Veterinary Clinic to get her checked out. The Vet told me it was a Hernia and she recommended that i remove it along with desexing my dog. I was happy to oblige because I love my dog and i want her to live a happy long life. So we did some tests and I was fairly satisfied, UNTIL i saw the bill. CONSULTATION: $55 BLOOD TEST: $120 HEART WORM TEST: $45 VACCINATION: $77 TOTAL: $297 AND HERES THE BEST BIT... SHE TOLD ME TO DESEX MY DOG IT WOULD COS $800-$1000. SHE IS A THIEF. SHE PLAYED WITH MY EMOTIONS SAYING THAT IF I DIDNT DO THE SURGERY RIGHT AWAY I WOULD PUT MY DOG IN PAIN AND SUFFERING. half an hour later i called another clinic that said they would do the surgery (hernia & desexing) for $300. no guesses to where im going to take my dog. she is a horrible person who should be taken out of practice. she has no sympathy for the emotions of her clients. she cunningly knows that her clients love their furry friends and would do anything and pay anything to keep them healthy. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE.

I wholeheartedly agree with the previous review – Campsie vet hospital is a RIP OFF. I don’t usually writes reviews. In fact, I joined Google+ just so I could share this review because I feel so strongly and immensely disappointed by the vet Jenny. I’ve taken my dog here since she was a puppy and had no issues with them for over a decade. They were rather expensive but I never let that get in the way of my dog’s wellbeing. A few years back, they gave me a quote for a procedure. It was a lot of money and as a student, it was not something I could easily afford. I felt guilty about it but I called up other vets in the area to research what they charged. All places were considerably cheaper but because of the long history I’ve had with Campsie Vet, I maintained my loyalty and took my dog there to get it done, paying the extra money. My parents said that it was easy for the vet to rip me off as I was willing to pay for anything they charged. I was offended and proclaimed to my parents that I fully trusted the vet and was sure they wouldn’t rip me off. Boy was I wrong. Perhaps the vet spotted naivety beaming from me... or perhaps they simply charged a premium on all their services. Whatever the reason, I received a rude shock when I finally let myself see their swindling ways, something I forced myself not to notice when I had the slightest suspicion, due to my fierce loyalty and disbelief that they would do such a thing. Needing another procedure done recently, I was given a run through of what was involved and then a quote of $300 over the phone. When I went to pick up my dog after the procedure, they upped the price and asked me for $360. It was only when I reminded them that I was told $300 over the phone did the vet Jenny quickly backtrack, clearly very badly lying and making up a quick excuse about how she overlooked that she had already charged me for some medicine that was actually already part of the $300 quote. Disguisting. My dog is now on prescription medicine for the rest of her life. I purchased a bottle of medicine from the vet and then found a place that sold the exact bottle for 40% cheaper. Each bottle only lasts a month so as you can imagine, I save a heap of money in the long run. I called up Jenny and asked if she would write the prescription for me. She refused basically giving me no reason other than the impression she was saying no because it meant they can't keep ripping me off. That was the last straw for me. She obviously did not care how loyal of a customer I’ve been for over 10 years. This place used to make me feel like they cared for my dog as a patient, operated ethically and professionally. Now I feel that they see my dog is a cash cow and they’re milking me for every dollar they can. It saddens me that Jenny has come to this. What happened to you Jenny? You were a good, honest vet before. You’ve done irreparable damage to the brand of Campsie vet hospital. There are honestly other wonderful vets that work there and the girls that help out are lovely, however, I do not appreciate being taken advantage of by Jenny and will take my custom elsewhere. I’d advise you do the same.
