I have been to this clinic on two separate occasions. Both dreadful experiences. The first I was told that my 6 month old rabbit would be dead by morning and was then left alone waiting for over 20 minutes. When the vet decided to re-join my suffering rabbit and I, I was told I could leave her and they would dispose of her in the morning. I refused and stayed up all night with her. Guess what? She isn't dead and when I took her to our usual vet the next morning I was told that anyone with eyes could see this rabbit was not going to die anytime soon and just required some antibiotics. On the second occasion I thought my rabbit may have digestive issues. The 'vet' and so called 'small animal specialist' refused to touch my rabbit because, and I quote "I'm scared to touch your rabbit". This is unacceptable and who are they hiring that the refuse to treat and animal who is doing and is sick. The still managed to charge me nearly $400 dollars for doing nothing. I would avoid taking any animal here.
So, SASH is the greatest hospital to keep the illness pets, isn't it?
Took my 4 month old puppy in there after being advised to by the Vet, Sydney Animal Hospital. They had him in there for 2 nights and charged me nearly $2000, my beautiful puppy was no better after getting him back from them. After that they really didnt seem interested when i called up asking questions like "should i be concerned that he is not eating". They told me my dog had esophagitis, that there was some air in there and take some tablets he should be fine. Paid $2000 for that advise, 2 months later i had to put my puppy down because he didnt have esophagitis, he actually had megaesophagus which caused him to get aspirated pneumonia. The Vet i took him to during his last days knew exactly what he had within 2 mins of seeing him, then completed the tests that confirmed he did in fact have megaesophagus. They treated him for the pneumonia, but it was just to much suffering for my boy and he couldnt get through it. When dogs have megaesophagus you must take a different kind of care for them to prevent the pneumonia. If SASH actually did there job properly i would of known this and my dog would still probably been alive. So really think twice about taking your dog to SASH, the prices they charge you can quiet easily take your dog to a VET that specialises in your breed. Because the only think SASH specialise in is taking your money.
We have used them on a couple of occasions for emergencies and as a specialist referred from our regular vet to do eye surgery and cancer treatment. You could not ask for more caring people to do all they can for your pet. Thank you especially from jasmin R..
The care given at sash is amazing. We travel for an hour to take our dog there. They were able to help him when several other vets couldn't. They really care, are extremely helpful and very skilled.
