I want to thank Sandra and staff at Summer Hill Village Vet for their care and understanding, not just for my little dog but also of me. Georgie, aged 15, became ill and needed hospitalization for a few days and it was very difficult for me. When I wanted to make daily visits I was welcomed with open arms and Georgie and I were able to spend quality time together in the clinic's courtyard. Unfortunately Georgie was terminally ill and instead of putting her to sleep I wanted to bring her home so she could die in familiar surroundings. With the wonderful support and understanding from Sandra in helping to manage Georgie's symptoms and pain I was able to spend her last 3 days snuggled up together until she passed away peacefully in my arms. Thank you Sandra, and your staff, I'm so grateful to have been able to support my little friend in her final days in her home.
I have been coming to this vet for a couple of years now and I am very happy with the work they do. I feel like they actually listen and take an interest in the problem which is rare these days. Tonight the vet rang me to check how my cat was holding up after having some teeth out earlier in the week. It was a late call but she made the time after they were closed which is great. Highly recommended.
To be honest, I would not recommend this vet. They charge like the proverbial wounded bull (which may be appropriate, given that it's a vet, but I don't believe so!), and I feel that their service is lacking at times. I have been kept waiting for an extended period, without explanation, and, whilst Lydia and Sandra are good vets, the new vet, Helen, is rather strange. Both my partner and myself felt her manner was very odd and made us uncomfortable.
I couldn't speak more highly of the vets and staff at this clinic. They treat all animals with respect and care! My dog loves going there. And as a WIRES carer they are happy to take on wildlife animals too - unlike a number of other vets in the Inner West.
Summer Hill Vet is the best Vet I've been to! Lovely Staff and Vets, lots of love and care taken and always with your family members best interest at heart.
