I have adopted dogs from the Lost Dogs Home BUT I will never take a lost animal to them EVER AGAIN. I have had a bad experience with a little lost dog I had to take to the LDH because by law only they can scan for microchips, in order to be reunited with their owner. Even though I said I would adopt at the end of the 8 days, the LDH gave me the run around, then said the dog may not be put up for adoption because of it's medical conditions (read euthanized). I went straight away and insisted that I adopt the dog - one month of treatment with ear drops the dog is fine and has never had any other medical issues in over two years. Adopt from them but DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMAL TO THEM. Robyn - Melbourne

The Lost dogs home under investigation by the Government. There are brave ex staffers now voicing their experiences at this 'death camp'. It seems they have contracts with a substantial number of councils around Victoria. Meaning that animals transported there send a fee with the animal. Animals by law must be kept for 8 days but after that they can be legally killed, A large part of the groundswell of public outrage was sparked when a lady rang and discovered they had her dog there. Admittedly not microchipped but when she went the next day to collect the dog, they had killed it.

Lost Dogs home make me sick ! They murder peoples pets and healthy adoptable animals! Its about time that the government will investigate them .
