This place is my new emerg go-to centre. I went to the "specialists" at Calgary North for my puppy's torn ear (a dog attacked her) and they refused to put it back together. I went here and they had her in and out, whole again so thoroughly that I can hardly see where the tear was, all within 1.5 hours (not including the time for the sedative to wear off). I'm so thankful to this clinic. Not to mention, they kept costs down to $400-500, rather than the $1200-1400 Western quoted me, when Western wasn't even going to put her ear back together. Thank you Calgary North! PS: I had previously taken another 13-year-old dog here and received perfect care then too.

Dr. Cooksley and the clinic team were fantastic! My kitty needed help with his bleeding tooth on a Friday night. Jessica took my call and bent over backwards to help me schedule him in for a tooth extraction. I read the reviews and was very wary of bringing in my kitty to this clinic...I have no reservations about recommending the clinic now. The staff is very friendly and upfront about costs (which matched almost dollar for dollar the fees of another vet in Airdrie). Thank you so much!

If you love your pet, DO NOT GO HERE! I have never taken the time to write a review and here I am. After experiencing an emergency with my dog, I was forced to go to Calgary North due to proximity. We walked in with my 15 pound dogs face covered in blood, shes shaking and I'm sobbing. She was finally admitted and it was not until an hour later, after I had bothered 3 separate receptionists, that I was finally told what was going on... and the vet HAD NOT SEEN HER YET. I made a stink and within 15 minutes or so she was seen. Finally I spoke to the vet (curly, short red hair), whom was cold and unfriendly, and was told that my dog needed surgery, stiches, etc. She advised me she was not sure when she could do it, which was completely frustrating but understandable in the cases of an urgent emergency. To make a long story short, within a few hours I was able to take my dog home. I waited this whole time and was never given one update. When I was finally told she was ready, the receptionist brought her out to me (didn't even get to speak to the vet or anyone to see how the surgery went) and her NEEDLE was still in her leg from her anesthetic. The receptionist said "oh oops - better go find someone to take that out". Meanwhile, the two other receptionists are standing around giggling and one spits her drink out she is laughing so hard, it was completely unprofessional and disgusting. 10 minutes later my dog is brought out to me again - and I am given 3 medications with hardly any instructions. The vet saw me leaving and spoke about 5 words to me. I tried to ask questions and was completely dismissed. I spent $1000... which is crazy, but its not the money, its the fact that our dogs/pets become our children and this place treated me and my dog like a number. They displayed no compassion, they were completely unprofessional and immature and really just disgusting in general. I am repulsed by the service here and highly recommend you NEVER visit this clinic.

Expensive meds. My regular vet is an hour north of Calgary but they had a power outage on the Saturday of a long weekend so I was not able to get a refill on a rx for our cat. My vet faxed in a rx to CNET and when I picked up the meds it was 50% MORE than I usually pay. I expected that there would be a bit of an I crease but not 50%!

I'm not sure what has happened to this place. We use to use Calgary North for years. My last experience was horrible for my dog and myself. I took him in for a sore leg. After $600.00 for X-rays, they said everything looked normal. They put him on Medicam and said if he still has issues, to come back and have more X-rays done and see the surgeon. Then my dog has a serious reaction to the Medicam. I took him back and I had to pay a $3000.00 deposit to get him fixed up. They seemed to use up the whole $3000.00. At the end of the day, he still has a sore back leg. I took it easy with my dog. His leg seemed to be a little better and then it flared up again. I took my dog to My local vet in Airdrie and for less than $300.00, they did blood work and check his leg. The vet said he's very confident that my dog had a torn ligament in his knee. He referred me to a Surgeon that has excellent reviews. He didn't want to take my money for X-rays. He said that's for the surgeon to decide so they get what they need. Then with regards to my dogs blood he has a serious pancreas issue. Calgary North had my dog over night and did blood work and didn't mention anything about his pancreas! To add insult to injury I requested that Calgary north send my dogs records to this other Vet and 3 days later they still didn't get them. When I called to make the request again I got a snotty women on the other end of the phone saying the faxed the records 3 times. When I commented to her that they didn't receive them and then asked why after 3 times why didn't they just email them. She had no answer. I asked her if she had confirmation that the fax went through incase they dialed the wrong number and again nothing. I asked for the to records to be emailed to myself so I could get the info to my Vet and I was told it would be at least 3-4 hrs as they are very busy with emergencies. I guess my dog is no longer an emergency now that they receive their money. Like I said, I've had a few dogs over my lifetime and they all lived very heathy happy lives. Calgary North use to play a big part of that. NOT Anymore! I'm not worried about the costs. Im lucky enough to make enough money to help my dog. I'm upset that my dog has suffered enough and now he is on track to getting the help he needs, Calgary Norths urgency to get his records over isn't there. To the owner of Calgary North Vet Hospital... Post a number or a way for me to contact you and I will be happy to give all of my information and details of what happen if you wish to look into this.
