as we were moving between houses a couple of days ago, our beagle broke a nail on his front dewclaw trying to jump up into the truck, his nail was hanging off halfway and our dog nail clippers were in a packed box, so we popped into the cranston vet clinic, where our two dogs "were" patients, to ask if we could borrow their clippers to trim the hanging nail. the receptionist picked up our dog then went into the back where i saw dr. agnes baer put our dog on a table then look at his teeth and feel his chest. i joked to my boyfriend that we would probably get billed $300 for that, as i just paid $500 a few months earlier for a geriatric exam to tell me my dog was slowing down with age! dr. baer came out and said we should have the dog sedated to trim the nail, and the cost would be $265, plus an additional fee for antibiotics. my boyfriend said no thanks, that's ridiculous, and began to leave with our dog, but dr. baer said we still had to pay a consult fee of $85 (her fee for the 2 minutes she spent on her computer determining the cost to cut the nail herself i guess). my boyfriend refused, and she insisted we pay it. i said if they weren't willing to lend us their nail clippers they should have just said so and we could have just gone to the pet store next door to buy new ones, but since our dogs were patients there we thought it was a small request to borrow theirs! she angrily agreed to us leaving without paying the ridiculous fee but glared at us as we left. i can assure you we will NEVER! EVER! EVER! go back there. Greedy Greedy Greedy! ps our dog chewed off the hangnail himself within the day and is completely fine.

Amazing staff and obviously care very much for their clients. You pay for the service you get, and this is worth every penny
