Great Vet! No Non-sense, sincere concern for your pet, (if you can see through his dry humour and laid back demeanor). Will not up sell you and doesn’t sugar coat anything. If you want a sappy merry environment that will sell you every expensive new experimental procedure known to exist GO anywhere else!

Very nice receptionist, Fantastic vet and his son is really sweet. The office was clean and all the other animals there seemed relaxed and happy. A cat slept in it's window basket. The vets (?) dog calmly came to greet us. People on the street waved at the people inside. I have been told by numerous people this is one of the best vets around. He really cares about the animals and the prices are great. I showed up at 9 am and was told I could have an appointment at 11:30. When I returned he was speaking to another lady. He was also very nice to her and knowledgeable. His son cleaned the table for my dogs examination. We all had a nice chat as she had her shots (which she didn't seem to notice he gave her) and took her pill. Someone wrote that his son made them uncomfortable. Sometimes people feel uncomfortable around really smart but a bit different people. As you are not looking for a date then he is not your problem. Not rude and did not at all make me feel uncomfortable. I also work with animals. You can tell a lot from looking in their eyes, ears, listening to their hearts and breathing. This is not a place to go if YOU need your butt kissed. If YOU need to feel special by paying more or for something your pet doesn't need... go to another vet.

I have gone to Acadia Veternarian Clinic 3 times now and that is because my wife goes there with the cat she got 7 years ago ( I did not even want a cat in the first place ) I go because she makes me sometimes. The place may not be the most modern or it might not be the most " Politically Correct atmosphere " for us humans, but if you want a doctor that really cares for your pet and knows what to do, I suggest you go there. All the best to all the other Vets and Pet owners.

Dr. Murray is old school, in the best of all ways. His dry humour is a bit tough for some to grasp but he is practical, down to earth, and you NEVER feel like you are being conned into a ton of expensive procedures and tests. We spent close to $2k trying to diagnose our dog without luck at two different vets. Then we went to Dr. Murray who with his decades of wisdom knew immediately. He gave us a prescription and sent in a blood test which confirmed his diagnosis. As soon as our dog started his prescription, he was on the mend.

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Dr Murray for close to 20 years. He has a wonderful combination of care and pragmatism. His fees are affordable and he doesn't recommend procedures or treatments when they are inappropriate for the age and condition of the animals in his care. I will always remember the support and empathy he showed to me and my old and cherished dog, Sam when it was time for Sam to go. Thanks for helping to keep my pets in good health - and for your sense of humour!!
