We have been going here since my dog was born (12 yrs ago). The care this facility provides is excellent. The staff really only have one priority: the exceptional care of the animals. They are true animal lovers.
Yesterday the vet -Dr. Prostran and staff saved my dog's life. She needed surgery ASAP and she got the help she needed. I know that these people save animals every day but when it's your best friend it is impossible to describe how grateful I am. There is a special place (somewhere) for people who help animals and I will always be thankful that they are there.
My roommate and I had to get one of our kitties spayed... and I don't exactly have a lot of money, so one of my friends, who is a vet tech, recommended taking my kitty here. Everything was pretty much okay, but what distinguished my experience as 'excellent' was the following; Due to them being a bit understaffed in the way of vets that day, my kitty wasn't able to get operated on until later in the day. When we came to pick her up, the vet tech immediately grabbed the vet who operated and had him talk to us. They informed us that she was still coming out of anesthesia, and recommended we keep her there overnight. This, to me, was a bit worrying. I'm a natural worrier. After plenty of discussion with my roommate, the vet tech was extremely supportive and even shared her own experience with us. She advised that we keep our kitty overnight for her sake as well as ours, and assured us (well, me, mainly, cuz I'm paranoid) about her well-being and care. "Do you want to see her?" YES. The vet tech was very patient with us as we went into the kennels to talk to our kitty and deal with the accusing looks that only a kitty can really master. I honestly think that both the vet and the vet tech were amazing to us, and our kitty. And obviously... yes, the SPCA needs our help and donations, so that they CAN have more vets and the staffing and support they need.
We have taken our cat Tuxedo to the this hospital 2 times for his stomach problems and both times managed to get rid of the problem in the most effective and cost efficient way possible, without unnecessary tests, scary medical treatments, etc. First time, we had him de-wormed, when the problem re-curred 6 months later, we took him there again worried that it was something more serious...However at the vet's advice, all we had to do was give him some anti-biotics, change his diet and keep him indoors and he has been fine and healthy since.
