I recently took my two elderly cats in for the first checkup they've had in a long while. From the phone call I made to book the appointment, I was smitten -- the receptionist was very cheery and thorough, and was able to schedule me at my convenience on the weekend. At the appointment, the vet tech took my cats' vitals and was again, nice and thorough, and then the vet, Dr. Dhillon, came in to examine the cats. WOW! Dr. Dhillon is amazing -- he's obviously a pet lover and cares deeply for animals. I've been to other vets where it's obvious the doctor is burnt out or is more interested in the money than the animals -- this is not the case with Dr. Dhillon. He gently examined the cats, explaining the whole time exactly what he's doing and what he's looking for, keeping me informed throughout the entire process. Samples were drawn for lab analysis and I went on my merry way after about 45 minutes. First thing next morning, I received a phone call from another vet at the hospital (I can't recall his name, apologies) who had gone over one of my cat's lab results and was concerned about his thyroid; he offered a couple treatment options and we agreed to try some medication. I returned to the hospital in the afternoon, picked up medications and was shown how to administer them to my cat. While the cat's not a fan of the foul-tasting medication, he's doing a *lot* better, hasn't vomited since! I'll be returning to Oak Animal Hospital soon for a follow-up appointment, and then from here on out for any issues with my cats -- or any future pets. These guys know their stuff, have fantastic bedside manner, and are pretty dang reasonable with their fees. I'll be recommending these guys to all my friends for sure!

I'm going to give my open and honest review. I've been with this clinic since I've had my rescue dog. They have given good and bad service, much like any vet clinic. I was extremely pleased with them my first few trips, but I found that it seemed like they were always trying to push some type of service or product on me each time I went in. I loved the care and patience they had when handling my dog, and the time they took to answer my questions. But my last trip did not go so well. I had taken my dog in for an ailment, and kept telling them the signs and symptoms of what was wrong, but it was never taken very seriously, they prescribed what they thought should be done, but when they performed one last check they discovered what I had been telling them all along. Anyhow - a round of tests later (which they quoted and I had approved), and some prescription meds, my dog got better quickly. My only problem was that they said they would call me back with the results and check on my dog, but they never did. I thought maybe the testing was taking longer than expected, so I waited till the 4 or 5th day before I called them. Even though the results were good as I suspected, I would have liked to have been informed about it, and told about possible causes as to why this had happened. I felt and still feel very lost at this moment, but luckily I have a great animal daycare that knows much about these things and has been able to give me more guidance then the clinic. All I can say is, you have to find ways to get yourself informed, or end up spending more money to get information from the clinic, which they are in the dark about almost as much as you are.

Went with a long time friend to support her and say goodbye to her dog J. J had a large tumor and had had a long happy 16 years, and it was time for her to go. The vet techs and reception handled the situation well and were very supportive. The doctor on the other hand was very much a doctor. You would think that if you had to put some ones dog down you would do some research on that dog, such as it's name and gender. Through out the whole process he never used J's name and kept calling her him, even after I corrected him. After the injection was given, J went to sleep and we were obviously distraught, he kept talking, when all we wanted was silence to be with J. I actually had to ask him to leave the room. Now I don't hold that against him, it is uncomfortable for every one involved. But personalizing the situation would have gone much further in making the moment a little easier. It might be part of the job for him, but for us is extremely personal and emotional time. I nicely voiced my concerns as we were leaving and he seemed genuinely sorry. Hopefully next time he's in that situation, he'll have a little more empathy.

Dr. Lin Khoo and her whole team (including Dianne and Kristie) were so very caring and patient when our cat had to be put to sleep. Dr. Khoo took the time to answer all of our questions and provided a loving environment for the dear creature's last moments. Thank you!

Dr. Jones provided excellent care for Treacle and we love how she makes her feel comfortable and is super gentle. She is great at explaining everything in terms of what the issue is, what the treatment options are and takes care to ensure that we are comfortable with everything. Great vets at Oak Vet Hospital!
