We brought our dog here after he suffered a ruptured spleen. He died on the way to the vet clinic - when my obviously distraught husband got there with the dog, they asked if he would like them to try to resuscitate the dog. He said yes. I know, I know, he was upset, and thought that if a vet suggests they can resuscitate an animal then its a possibility. We ended up with a $700 bill and a still dead dog. I think it was incredibly unethical to offer to try to resuscitate a dead dog, and that it was a bit of a money grab. I loathe the idea of ever having to bring an animal to this location again, but unfortunately it's the only Emergency clinic in the Vancouver area.
I feel confident in their skill and ability to ensure the best care for my kitty, they explained in full detail what the recommended. It felt like a sales situation, they encourages treatments that ended up costing a lot of money. I don't know any better, I just want my kitty healthy. I trust that we made the right decisions accepting all of their suggestions. I did not like the way they prepared quotes, one "low-end" price and one "high-end" price, we approve the procedures then when discharging our cat they decide to add an additional several hundred dollars ON-TOP of the "high-end" quote??? we have no choice at this point. I feel good that my cat has hope and they helped, I feel shitty that they just keep adding hundreds of dollars onto the cost like there's nothing to worry about.
These people where so sympathetic when my cat died, I am still grieving over her passing this morning but these people have made it as painless as possible and helped me analyze my options. Even before my cat was put down they explained my options to me in a nice way and where never pushy or anything. Thank you for being so kind in my time of loss I will recommend you to everyone. Bless you guys, thank you very much.
Wasted a lot of time and money. We spent three hours and didn't get help. Doctor on call: we didn't see any doctor communication skils:0 compassion: 0 would I go back: no did they do some test: no did they ever give us any diagnosis: no We stayed in the waiting room for hours and had to pay for it. My advice: Do not bring your pet here!!!
We came in around midnight on a holiday weekend, and I'm glad we did. My cat was attacked by a raccoon, and they took him back immediately and we waited in the lobby. Everybody was very nice, even calling up on the phone was a pleasant experience. There are several parking spaces in the back, so you won't have to worry about that whenever you do come. You can tell everyone there really cares, and they have people on call for whatever you might need. They had just completed emergency surgery on a dog to remove some rawhide from his throat when we arrived. We got updates on what was going on pretty frequently, and were able to come back and see him a few times over the course of the visit. They explained everything very well and gave us our options, it was very straightforward, and they handled a difficult situation very well. They let us know what wasn't really an emergency and could be handled at a regular vet later. When we did take our cat home, they explained his care very carefully. All the medication bottles had very detailed instructions on them so it was pretty foolproof, and we had a few pages of care information printed out and medication info packets as well. If you have an issue with your animal at any time, I would definitely recommend taking them here.
