I take my pets to the Vancouver Veterinary Hospital because they are excellent veterinarians who do their absolute best to ensure your animal's well-being and comfort while there. They are caring and compassionate, as is all of the staff since they have pets of their own. My pets have been treated by Dr. Amy Cheung for a few years now and who is absolutely wonderful. She has helped to care for our three pets, one 10 year old cat, and two 3 year old cats. Her treatments definitely helped all of them. She is very sweet and caring, will spend as much time as you need, and will answer all of your questions. She never makes you feel rushed or pressured in any way, My cats are usually hesitant around other people, but not with Dr. Cheung. The food recommendations she's made has helped them maintain optimum body weights and her dental recommendations regarding specific foods and treats they should eat, have kept their teeth healthy. When you leave the pets there, you know they're in the best of hands. You know they're getting the best care and love other people can give them. For anyone needing a vet, I highly recommend the Vancouver Veterinary Hospital.
Great place to take your pet. A friend recommended me this place for laser treatment for my aging dog. The laser seems to have helped her hips and her mobility is getting better. The laser treatment is also very reasonably priced. I also had one of my dog's teeth extracted and the staff were caring and really good with my dog. I would recommend VVH.
We've been bringing our Frenchie here since he was a few months old and had him neutered here too and were really impressed with the quality of care from the nurses and vets (Dr Cheung is our primary vet). The nurses remember our dog even though it'll be months between visits and all staff take time to answer questions. Dr Cheung is thorough and caring. I never feel like we're being up-sold any medication and have found the prices highly reasonable, especially after initially going to the Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital on Broadway, which was exorbitant and sold us things we found out later we didn't need. We also went through the experience of having to have my mother-in-law's cat put down and the staff were incredibly compassionate and understanding and Dr. Mattsson was absolutely wonderful. They also followed up with a card to my mother-in-law offering their condolences. I would not hesitate in recommending the Vancouver Veterinary Hospital to others.
The Vancouver Veterinary Hospital offers quality care, knowledgeable advice, and top medical care from some of the best veterinarians I have ever dealt with. In particular - Dr. Amy Cheung. I totally agree with what the other reviewer said about her and the entire staff. They are all pet lovers and owners themselves, and therefore are very compassionate toward all animals.
I went to this Vet because my rat was very sick and dying. He had fallen a couple months previous, started getting better than got worse. He wasn't eating, he couldnt drink, he couldn't stand or walk without falling over, he was skin and bones and his eyes were infected. They charged us a wopping $62 for the exam only to tell us what we already knew, that he was going to die soon. I asked the vet to euthanize him to end his suffering, twice the vet refussed and told us just to seringe feed him every couple of hrs even thogh he agreed that he was very near to dying. I was floored that the vet would try installing false hope in my son. We went home and tried feeding him by seringe, but he could not even sleep from his pain. My friend told me the SPCA would put him down for free. I called Vancouver Veterinary hospital to tell them how displeased I was with them, I even went down to ask for a refund seeing as they didn't even run any test or offer any meds with their hopes of keeping him alive longer. They refused to refund me any of the ridiculous amount they charged me, they said if I had mention earlier they might have brought down the price, to which I said well why not now. The vet wouldn't even come out to talk to me personally, he told the receptionist to say he was on his way out, then why couldn't he spare a minute if he was leaving already. They were not working in the best interest of my pet and took advantage of a poor family who cant even afford to feed ourselves.
