I do not understand the negative reviews here at all! I was very impressed with the service I received at this clinic. My dog was due for vaccinations and the entire experience was positive. Lots of parking was available and check in was quick. I was greeted warmly and didn't have to wait. It is always nice when your appointment time is actually honoured -- seems rare these days. The Vet I saw, Dr. Russell, seemed very kind and I got "good vibes" from him. Just seemed like a genuine nice person who cares for animals. He did a thorough check-up on my dog before administering the vaccination. I didn't feel rushed at all and he took the time to ask me if I had any questions, concerns, etc. Afterwards, payment was quick and painless. Price seemed reasonable and on par with any other vet I've seen. I've just moved to Victoria (Langford) from Calgary so am thankful my vet experience here was positive. Looks like my dog has his new Doggy Doctor! :)
I don't think a review should involve malicious slander! Shame on the people that engage in that behaviour. I have been taking my pets to Belmont Vet Hospital since 1997 when Dr. G was still around. I have only gone to other clinics when all the vets at Belmont are busy and it's an emergency. But I always go back to them. Dr. Dyson is wonderful. She met us at the clinic once in the middle of the night to stitch up my dog's paw after it was cut open on something sharp in the neighbours yard. If you are looking for perfection or exact science or 100% accurate diagnosis 100% of the time, call God. If God doesn't answer the you can try the Belmont Vet Hospital. If you don't like it then simply go somewhere else.........no need to be an A-hole.
IF YOU ARE A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE OWNER AVOID THIS CLINIC AT ALL COSTS!!! I took my new puppy there because he was under 8 weeks old and wasnt eating properly.(he was taken from his mom too young and I explained this) He wouldnt eat any regular brand wet food and wasnt drinking his puppy milk. The vet convince me the dog might have a stomach infection and to give him antibiotics and they gave me recovery wet dog food. Bear loved the wet dog food, however I could only feed him a maximum of 5 teaspoons a day, a small amount for growing puppy in my opinion. I EVEN EXPRESSED THIS CONCERN AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE FINE. Then when it came time to give him his antibiotics he threw up everywhere. Worried I call the vet they tell me its ok and to keep giving it to him if it keeps happening then call back tomorrow if it keeps happening. The next morning I skip the dose because I wanted him to eat, that afternoon I give it to him he throws up and doesnt eat. In the morning I give him his medicine again reluctantly and no surprise he throws up again and I am really worried this time I call the vet and they say bring him in. I rush there and then I tell them I am pretty sure it is the antibiotics and the vet says no it couldnt be just get that thought out of your head. He is sure that bear has parvo and does a special test for it the test is negative. He says he wants to do a blood test to see if it was parvo even though we just did the specified test for it. Well I dont have endless amounts of money to just through on hunches (I already spent 170 last vist and this one was passed a 100 already) so I decide to go home because I am sure it is the antibiotics. Talking to the vet he knew I had a money issue and all he was concerned about was how I was paying for this visit, he asked at least 7 times. So I go to the front and pay they allow me to leave. 45 minutes later the SPCA was at my door saying the vet had called because they were concerned for the health of my dog. IF THE VET WAS SO CONCERNED WHY DID THEY LET ME LEAVE? BECAUSE ALL THEY WANTED WAS MONEY THATS WHY. In the end I signed bear over because of the way the spca special officer made me feel. Only to find out that my dog was so sick because he was severely malnourished THE REASON I TOOK HIM TO THE VET WAS TO AVOID THIS. Yet they told me its ok for my underweight dog to be throwing up when I called and also express my concern my growing puppy could only eat 5 teaspoons of food a day. They were no help, I would have been better off just getting the wet dog food and not even bring my dog to see him. PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR PET TO A BUSINESS THAT ONLY SEES MONEY SIGNS WHEN YOU WALK IN!! They do not have your's or your pets best interest at heart!!
This is the worst vet in town!!! A total druggie and she cannot keep staff!! Nobody that is on their website is working there anymore! HUGE turnover and people have been trying for years to get this place shut down! STAY AWAY IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS!!!!!
Our pets....5 cats and over the years 4 dogs have all been treated by Liz Dyson at Belmont-Langford......best vet ever! Caring and professional and not focused on just the "money"....I have never considered using another vet after meeting Liz.
