I found Eldale by trying to locate a vet for a secondary opinion on a cat who had severe internal bleeding. The clinic I was in before, who had already charged me well over $2000 wanted to charge me another $400+ for more blood work. I finally had enough and decided to try Eldale. We've been with them ever since (and for reference, that SAME bloodwork at Eldale actually only cost just a little over $100... crazy huh?). My boy was literally on his death bed when I started at Eldale. The other vet just couldn't figure it out, and maybe they really were stumped. Who knows. Eldale however got him on a plan, new diet, and fixed him right up. (It was a severe chicken allergy which is becoming more and more common as chicken becomes more common in pet foods). We've been with them for a few years with other pets. The *only* thing I would suggest to anyone, and this is not exclusive to this clinic. It's common in all clinics. Please do your research on the pet food industry! Even vet diets aren't necessarily as good as they're boasted to be. You would be amazed at what goes into those foods sometimes. My boy unfortunately became victim of bad pet food... he was on a very specific vet diet where an ingredient was changed. He suddenly ended up with end stage renal failure (at 5 years of age) only 2 months after the ingredient change. I don't think this is the fault of Eldale whatsoever - simply an educational tidbit for those who simply may not know. It wouldn't necessarily affect all pets the same way, but clearly there was something wrong with that ingredient change. He did amazing on the vet diet for 1.5 years until that change - that makes it pretty obvious when he doesn't get treats and I never feed table food to my pets. (his internal bleeding was unrelated as he had completely normal levels at that time - meaning he did NOT have kidney failure less than 2 years prior - it was acute). Anyway, all in all, a good vet practice I would say. I bring all my many furbabies here and will continue to do so.
Very kind and knowledgeable, also, not as expensive as the vets in K-W.
In the ten years I have been bringing my pets to Eldale I have found the staff friendly, accommodating and flexible. They treat their patients with care and compassion and are practical and honest in their opinions.I would not hesitate to reccommend Eldale.
I've taken my pets to the Eldale Clinic for 10 years and I have found their staff to be very caring and helpful. They don't guilt me into giving unnecessary shots or treatment to my dogs and have always been very upfront on any risks or benefits of what they are doing. They are very reasonably priced compared to some of the other clinics around Guelph and KW. I have referred many of my friends to this clinic.
Real, down to earth caring vets. Not an image focused, money hungry business like the rest of K-W's vets...they pay more attention to your animals health, happiness, and well being and less attention to pretty labels and fashionable image - justifiable reason to rack up the price. (??) No frills, real care, period. Vets shouldn't have a boutique image and focus. Thanks for staying true Eldale! :)
