Heed not the naysayers: the people here are knowledgeable and empathetic. That being said, they're not miracle workers. Bringing a sick animal to a vet is not a guarantee that they'll get better, especially where exotic pets are concerned. Veterinary science for birds, reptiles, amphibians and what have you is NOT as advanced as veterinary science for dogs and cats; if you have a sugar glider or a chameleon, you are still better off coming here than going to a traditional vet. Just TRY to have your bird's toenails clipped with a regular veterinarian. They won't be able to handle it as easily as the vets at The Links Road. As for the cost: yeah it's expensive, but as it is, exotic animal vets are rare and in demand. High Park might be cheaper, but if you can afford it, these guys are better.
If you are a rat owner in Toronto, this is one of the best places you can go. Most vets aren't familiar with small animals the way these guys are. Nobody else could get my rats a doxy injection for their mycoplasma.
Dr. Evan (one of the vets at this clinic) really knows Chinchillas. He has been caring for my 10 year old male chinchilla for two years now and has done a great job. My Chinchilla has terrible teeth and needs to be checked out every few months. The previous vet I went to would put him under every time at a large amount of cost to me and stress on my pet. Dr. Evan never suggests more care (and cost) than necessary.
WARNING!!! Do not take your reptile to this clinic; in two years I had two Reptiles that were sick. One being a Uromastyx & a Leapord Gecko, two different vets each time, spent a lot of money on visits, medications, and they both died. There time & money are considered more important then your reptile. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR REPTILE HERE, lots of money with no results, they over charge and their knowledge of REPTILES are limited. WARNING!!!
Helpful and friendly, when you actually get there, but I constantly get a busy signal, sometimes for days at a time. As good as they are, it doesn't matter if I can't get in touch with them.
