I've been taking my cat, Walter, to this vet this since late 2012. My cat was sick with an upper respiratory infection and my other vet couldn't fit him in until the next day, I called this place up, and they said they could fit him in an hour. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it in myself due to an emergency at work. My mom brought him in to the vet, and after the examination, the vet Dr. Sime, called me at work and explained what was wrong with him, and what I needed to do in terms of medication. Since then, Walter's been diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease, and the staff and Dr. Sime have been wonderful and answered all my numerous questions. Dr. Sime even spent a lot of time researching what food is appropriate for him, giving his history of urinary crystals, allergies and now kidney problems. I highly recommend this vet to anyone.

I've been taking my cat to this animal hospital for just over 3 years now (I've had my cat for 10 years), and it's by far the best hospital I've been to in Ottawa. The staff are what makes this place so wonderful. They genuinely care about every animal that comes through the doors. Dr. Miriam Boileau has been my cat's vet and she is a wonderful person and extremely thorough in her decision making regarding tests/exams etc. I have received several follow-up phone calls from the staff, just to check in and see how my cat is doing, which in my opinion is going above and beyond what a hospital is required to do. Yes, the prices can be expensive, but you pay for the good quality service that you receive at this hopsital - and as a responsible pet owner, you should be considering pet insurance to assist with those expenses, anyways. I brought my new cat in for his first checkup last Saturday and it was one of the smoothest, most pleasant experiences I've had in recent memory. The vet, vet tech and really all of the Centretown Veterinary Hospital's staff were warm and incredibly professional. The vet seemed genuinely concerned with asking as many questions as possible to determine what is best for the health of my cat. I really can't say enough good things about this business.

I can't thank you enough for the care and comfort you provided to our beautiful sweetpea while she was with us. We lost her on Monday morning and our hearts breaking over & over again. We miss her so very, very much and it's hard to imagine this apartment without her pottering about and hopping into our chair and bed with us. Dr Sime was so wonderful with our girl and provided my husband & I with much needed followup and really went above and beyond. It's still so fresh and horrible right now, but their thoughtful card, flowers and phone-call made us feel less alone in grief.

On Monday, I had to make the incredibly difficult decision to have my cat put to sleep. I brought her to this clinic, where I've been a client before, despite the price gouging myself and other clients have experienced. After a lengthy wait, a vet came to assess her - the assessment lasted under two minutes, and I was charged over sixty dollars for it. The vet agreed with me that it was time to put my pet to sleep. The injection did not take, and the vet grabbed my cat and took her into another room. It was incredibly confusing and worrying. She informed me several minutes later they would have to administer a lethal injection to her heart, which I reluctantly agreed to. I was not allowed to be there when they did it, despite previously being assured by the vet that I could be there in the final moments of my pet's life. The vet assured me she would call me later that day to let me know how the process went. I have yet to receive that call. The ordeal cost me over $300 and I received no news. They managed to make a devastating process even more painful and awful. I will not be taking future pets to this clinic. And they should be ashamed for providing such poor and heartless service when both animals and people are in suffering.
