I found a little sick finch in my backyard. I called them and they told me to bring it in, so I did. They were lovely people. They took the finch in and were very grateful I did. I donated some money because they need public support to take care of all these beautiful creatures. I am so grateful we have a facility like this. Its not really a place like a zoo but a hospital for wild birds. I really appreciate them. You have to bring the animal to them, they don't pick up animals.

I called to rescue an injured blue heron dying in the snow in -22 weather. Even though it was during business hours no one answered. It died and now they have to accept that blood on their hands.

If using this map, the location is incorrect. The actual address of the Wild Bird Care Centre is 734 Moodie Drive (not 735), and it is on Moodie Drive between Fallowfield & Hunt Club Rd (not on Richmond Rd as indicated on this map). Please be aware that Moodie Drive is bisected south of Bell's Corners -- it turns into Richmond Rd. If you are approaching the Centre heading south on Moodie from Bell's Corners, you must turn left and head west on Hunt Club Rd (your next right will be the continuation of Moodie Drive, and the location of the Wild Bird Care Centre). Another landmark: the Centre is beside the Beaver Trail parking lot.

Google has made edits and the location and address are now correct. The Centre cannot be seen from the road but there is a sign at the end of the lane-way. Public visiting hours are from 12:00 to 3:00 daily. Bird admissions are from 8:00 to 4:00 daily. If bringing in any baby or young bird, please call the Centre before-hand so that the staff can determine if admission is actually needed. Uninjured nestlings can be returned to their nest (parents WILL NOT reject due to human scent) and it is not unusual for fledglings to be left alone by their parents for extended periods of time.
