My 3 yr old outdoor cat found himself at Bay Cat Hospital, when someone picked him up roaming the streets, he was seriously injured. Nearly torn apart. He didn't have a collar, but luckily the nurses (Elaine, I believe) checked for a microchip, which helped them get in touch with me. I was at work when I got the call and it was a very scary and unpleasant emergency to deal with. They sedated him and made him as comfortable as they could until I arrived (many hours later, after work). Very calm and reassuring. Worked with me until we could figure out an affordable solution (I am a student with a low income). Kept him comfortable over night until his surgery the next day. Were very patient with me when I called throughout the day to check on him. Last thing - If you are squirmy, tell them you don't want to see the injury!! I didn't know they would, and I saw my poor little mangled Biggie, up close and personal. Was not ready for that. Otherwise, so far so good, going to pick him up tonight and hopefully things keep looking up! Thank you Bay Cat and Dog Hospital!
I've been taking our many, many cats to Dr. Herman and the Bay Cat Hospital for 20 years now. I wanted a specialty clinic that would have feline expertise and that's exactly what I got. They are amazing - they go above and beyond the call of duty, and their compassion and kindness during all sorts of illnesses and several goodbyes helped me cope and made it much less stressful on the cats as well as me. Dr. Herman is down to earth and realistic when it comes time to make treatment decisions and I know that she is always going to recommend what's best for my beloved cats. She won't just recommend a lot of expensive tests for no good reason. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and have been there a long time so really know what they're doing. They know clients and their pets by name. Everything is explained by the staff and vets so that I have a thorough understanding of what's going on, what if anything needs to be done, what the options are for treatment, etc. Through their care, they've extended the life of many of my cats while still maintaining an excellent quality of life for my precious kitties. Bay Cat Hospital also does a lot of rescue work for animals in high-kill shelters as well as for ferals and strays. She helped me - and countless others - when I rescued and fostered two kittens by giving a huge discount for the spaying and vaccinations. The addition of the Bay Dog Hospital was welcome once we rescued a dog. They've treated our dog with just as much care as our cats. There are two totally separate waiting rooms, one for dogs and one for cats, which works out great. This way my cats don't get stressed by dogs they don't know and our 120 lb dog doesn't scare any of the kitties in the waiting room. If a 10 star rating was available, Bay Cat and Dog Hospitals would definitely get one from me! I can't recommend them highly enough.
A great clinic very close to me. Just started going but my dog was treated well.
