We have been going to Black's for 15 years with four cats and two dogs. Every experience we've had there has been wonderful. The vets are competent and sensible. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They were perfect when we had to put our very old cat to sleep. Beautiful old building and a real neighbourhood feel to the place.

Finally we found a vet who is compassionate, and puts the needs of the owner and animal first.

Dr. Black himself seems fine, but his assistant makes mistakes. I haven't seen him handle an emergency because he is so frequently on vacation, when my emergencies come up, other vets have handled it. His office clerk does not gracefully fix her mistakes, rather, she plays the blame game and then she'll expect you to make a second trip down to the office to fetch the fixed paperwork, prescription, whatever.
