Never liked this place...my wife keeps bringing our dog there because she couldn't be bothered to shop around. We never get any answers there....always "maybe this" or "maybe that". And they are always trying to sell you something. (like annual shots...which are totally unnecessary) This final straw for me was when my dog was peeing blood and they recommended we neuter him. Even I know that the urinary tract is completely separate from the reproductive organs. When I brought that up she back tracked...I just left. Never going back.

I had a dog and a cat at the RAH. Everything was great to be honest. Goran is SO NICE!!! I had them both spayed there and everything was great. I even like the kitten adoption program they have there. But won't be going back and here's my bad experience. I went on a trip for a month and came back home to find that my dog had warts all over her mouth. We brought her to the Dr Elizabeth and she had no idea what caused this issue. So we went online with her and basically google these mouth warts. We couldn't find a solution so she suggested that if the situation doesn't improve, we should bring her back a week later for antibiotics. That same week, we went for a second opinion at the Greenwood Park Animal Hospital, just to tell us that eventually those warts will fall off and it's just a stress reaction. For this consultation, we were charged $0.00. While at the RAH we were charged for a consultation... Can't remember how much but around $80. I felt ripped off so I wrote a letter to the veterinary, wondering if this charge was fair. The response was this veterinarian, calling me and confronting me for this letter. We sort of argued and I told her that I couldn't believe this lack of professionalism. I took my dog and cat to the Greenwood Park Animal Hospital, where they are clean, nice and I've never felt ripped off. Also, the vet here has told me that dogs don't need a rabbis shot every year, unlike the RAH who sends a letter every season to try and sell whatever the shot is out there and it's the time to get it. I'm sorry but I agree with most of the comments posted here. Good luck to the people that work here, but I won't recommend this veterinary.

My cat had fallen out the window and thankfully had just broken his leg but it was still bad. After the emergency we had to take him to another vet to fix his leg. They told us that the cheapest option will be to remove the leg and the more expensive option will be to put pins in the leg. Because we did not have alot of money we went with the first option. A few days before the surgery the vet said for same price of the removing the leg they will put the pins in so he can keep his leg because they saw how much we cared about our cat.(liars). So we said okay to this option. Then after the surgery she said we will have to bring the cat in again to remove the pins and to do more x-rays in a few weeks. When we asked for the price she would just say she will let us know. And we asked many times.Now it was too late they surgery is done. After the surgery we brought the cat back home and a few weeks later we had to bring him in to remove the pin. Finally she told us the price and basically it ended up costing us more than having the leg removed and more than the pin option she told us from the beginning. They took advantage of our situation and acted like they cared. This is a terrible place. I am so happy I found an amazing vet now. These people are disgusting.

I have taken my chinese water dragon and my green iguana there over the past 3 years and have not had any problems. I have dealt with both reptile vets Dr. Salama and Dr. Draban(sp?) sorry I can't remember his name correctly. Reptiles are difficult to diagnose and treat due to the lack of research in the field complared to mammals, but these doctors have both taken time and consideration in diagnosing and offering treatments for my two scaled buddies. I have another friend who had a bad experience here with her bird when it had to be euthaized, so it seems like people's experiences are either stellar or terrible. It's up to you to decide, but there aren't many places in the city to take exotics.

All three vets at the hospital have demonstrated knowledge and professionalism. Dr. Medhat Salama, in particular, has supported our dog throughout an ongoing liver condition. It is thanks to Dr. Salama's good advice and timely interventions that our boy is healthy and still with us today - a happy soul. Far from being money-grubbing, Dr. Salama seeks ways to reduce our expenses without compromising the quality of care. Our experience has been that the staff of this clinic go ABOVE what is expected. Dr. Salama follows up by phone (and will even phone twice if he has to leave a message). Once, after receiving questionable care and advice from an emergency clinic, Dr. Salama and the clinic staff opened for us on New Year's Day, even though they were technically closed. We have had uniformly good experiences at this clinic.
