Animal patients, like human patients, present to emergency centers in emergencies. Not only are the patients stressed, often the clients are as well. As in any private hospital, there are costs to medical care. OHIP does not support veterinary hospitals. Medical treatment protocols are discussed in full. If costs are an issue, insurance plans are available, and if not, plans are adjusted to suit client's needs. Be it known that emergency and after hours care is a challenge to operate, and costs more since after hours services and staff costs are at a premium.
