My wife and I took our cat there and the staff were very polite and sympathetic. The Dr.'s and vet tech worked all day on our little guy and tried their very best to help him. After working on him all day, trying to clear the bladder blockage, they could not do anything else. They recommend we take him to Central Toronto Vet Emergency Clinic for one last try. We eventually decided we had to put him down. A few days later we got a lovely card in the email form the clinic, signed by all the staff. A nice touch in a difficuly time. It seems the staff care about having a relationship with their clients. We now have decided to take our other cat there for her regular checkups.
When my cat got gravely ill this past fall I took him to Westside Animal Hospital, as I had heard great things about the clinic from a friend who has 4 animals of her own and who deals with them. They were not my regular vet nor were they the closest, but based on her opinion of the clinic I decided to go there. (I had been thinking of finding a new vet.) We were in contact with someone at the clinic every single day that Leo was there, (5 days), and I believe that somebody even went in during off-hours over the weekend to check on him. I found that the attention paid to him, and to us - especially as brand new clients - to be most impressive. Everything was well explained to us in terms of testing, medications and possible courses of action that we could take. For the record, we took it upon ourselves to inquire about all costs BEFOREHAND and made our decisions accordingly. Unfortunately we had to make the painful decision put Leo down, as he was very ill and not responding to any sort of treatment. He was a bit of a mystery case, apparently, and Dr. Bondar performed an autopsy on his own dime to determine the cause of his ailments. It turned out to be a number of small tumours in his pancreas. Leo would not have got better. I was surprised a few weeks later to find a sympathy card signed by all staff members at Westside Animal Hospital in my mail. In all of my years as a pet owner I have never received anything like this. It was a very thoughtful touch, and one that was much appreciated by our family. We will definately not hesitate to use their services in the future when we decide to bring another pet into our home. Thanks Westside!
I have been going to see Dr. Bondar for years with my dog "Muffy" . The service for my dog has been nothing but the best. All the staff are Great .... I would recommend this hospital & Dr. Bondar to anyone !!! Great location and the prices are reasonable . My dog "Muffy" loves the treats Dr Bondar gives him while there ........makes him feel at home !!
When my regular vet retired, we were fortunate enough to find Westside Animal Hospital and Dr. Bondar. I have 3 cats and two dogs whose health is watched over by the staff at Westside Animal Hospital on Dufferin Street in Toronto. The friendly reminders for their checkups, and follow up appointments after any procedure no matter how small is wonderful. They even phone if they are concerned as well to check on the animals, with out me asking. They are very aware that my animals are my family and mean the world to me!! Unfortunately just recently my 16 year old miniature Dachshund passed on, she lived passed the normal life expectancy. We attribute this to Dr. Bondar's wonderful care and guidance along with our love! If there was even the smallest concern about her health she was checked over very thoroughly, if any thing needed to be done from diet to medical procedures he expalined things to their fullest. Leaving us with comfort with all final decisions. He never hesitated to call us at home to answer any concerns or while we were in the office. His staff is always willing to put up with my many calls and concerns reassuring me all the time. Debra who is their office manager is very helpful and comforting when I call regardless of how busy they are. When our Angel passed on they gave us comfort and peace of mind she would be treated respectfully. They let me know my options and prices if I wanted her ashes. All was handled respectfully and quietly. They even gave me a lock of her hair. The same was done for another one of my cats and a dog, which I still miss terribly to this day.. They allowed me time in their office to gather my thoughts before heading back in to this busy world! Their prices are more than fair . As far as I am concerned the entire Westside staff are my Animals Guardian Angels here on earth!! From the technicians to the receptionists. You want to best for your four legged kids, go here. We are truly blessed to have Dr. Bondar, his staff and Westside Animal Hospital here in Toronto. with love to all the Staff T.T.T.M.J. (all my fury kids intials)
