We phoned around when our vet in Ottawa died. The Clinique Veterinaire de l'Outaouais' phone reception was positive and conveyed a nice professional tone. We took our first dog and our cats there. The assistant taught us how to see if the animal had fleas. She answered all questions joyously and professionally. She handled the animals surely and kindly. They were right at home in her hands. The female vet came, was professional, expedient without being rushed, and kind to all species. Whenever we return the office staff is always nice and welcoming. They offer condolences if a pet has passed. (We've been with them a long time.) The saved our little barn cat rescue when she was dieing of pneumonia. They kept her overnight, gave her IV and medication. I almost fainted at the bill. It would have been 5Xs that in Ottawa! No complaints at all about their fees! I have recommended Clinique Veterinaire de l'Outaouais to many people. Those who have gone have reported having a positive experience. They make keeping a pet an affordable, healthy experience!

Very insulting staff. I bought my dog and 2 days later he got very sick. Brought him there and the bill was over 2500$ my husband was in another country, so i didnt want to make the decision by my self. As i am sitting there crying cause i love my dog and the bill is so high, they have the nerve to tell me "if you cant afford a dog, don't get one" Stupid as i am, i dont say anything, and we go thru with paying the bill and getting the dog better. We go back later for for his shots, the dog is scared as hell and hides under the chairs as soon as he sees the needle. When we go back for follow up shots he pees on the floor and they get mad at us. THE DOG IS SCARED ass*** anyways, if you have a lot of money and like to be rude to other, this is the place for you!

I took my pets here a couple times. I did not really like the service I received. The staff seems quite condescending and opinionated. There is nothing wrong with having a differing opinion, but telling someone any opinion different that yours is wrong; well then you lose me as a customer. Eg. I called asking about some info on my cat as I believed she might have had a urinary tract infection. When the vet came on the phone, he proceeded to tell me I was feeding a terrible quality food (grain free kibble mixed with canned) and that's what caused the infection. We hadn't even been to the vet and he was already blaming her diet on an infection she may or may not have had. The prices were fair, but the staff and I just didn't "click."

1)Once the staff behind the desk laughed at me, with other pet owners present, when they asked me what kind of cat I had. I said the breed instead of it being domestic. The three of them laughed. I didn't! 2)Another time the woman vet got mad at me because my cat had licked it's stitches. The cone came off when I was at work. Sorry lady I live alone. I can only do so much. 3)I take one of my cats to get put to sleep, they were busy during heart worm season so I got rushed service from the man vet and little sympathy. The capper was the assistant who had no compassion and was cold as ice. With tears running down my cheeks I asked her to mail me the bill so I could just go home. Their old office waiting area being the size of a closet I didn't want to everyone seeing me like this. Stone faced she says "No. Why." As if it wasn't obvious enough, I had to explain to her why. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!

I have been at 6 other vet hospitals and I decided to change due to some Doc's who seemed to no longer like their jobs. I brought my best friend Chico (Black Lab mix) for a back/hip injury, he had slipped on the ice, he was 11 years old and as active as a 2 year old bursting with energy. Thankfully it wasn’t too serious, the staff were more than amazing. A week later, we received a call from the vet asking how Chico was....I was blown away by this. I never had the hospital call for me after a trip to the emergency to see how I was doing. Anyways, a few months ago, Chico being 12 now, was starting to have serious leg/hip problems and was suffering and now only walking on 3 legs. I don’t believe in having a dog suffer. He could barely get up and lie down. He was also becoming a bit neurotic due to the pain. With a broken heart, I decided to let him go. Chico and I were treated with the upmost respect. The staff was so amazing, caring and compassionate during my heartbreaking experience that I could never do a job like that and I take my hat off to them. A week later I received a beautiful condolence card from the Hospital and staff, it broke my heart but made me smile inside and I thought to myself, these people are simply the best, I was never a number, I am a real person who lost his best friend. Thank you...
