My sister took my bird there yesterday since he was having problems breathing. After xrays the vet suspected he had fatty liver disease. They gave them 2 options further testing or injecting him with drugs (antifungal, antibiotic, pain killers). I told them not to give anything because fatty disease is not an infection we just need to change his diet. The vet looked at my sister and told her "youre putting him in pain right now" she played on her feelings for the bird till my sister agreed to give him a "liver cleanse" which was the vibravenos antibiotic (the vet lied about what the drug was to push it on my sister) also gave him a pain killer metacam which i calculated was the right dosage Today (the day after) my bird changed altogether and died...my sister called the vet as he was dying she was very careless on the phone and didnt even show empathy when he died minutes later. 2 things couldve killed him: the barium used for the xray that couldnt be eliminated from his body or the docycyline used which is not recommended anywhere in litt for burds with enlarged liver. Not all the vets there might be incomptent the one we saw was Genevieve Bisson. If you want to kill your pet go there they will try to push things so bill goes up without feeling any remorse.
Friendly staff and a veterinarian who know how to handle a rabbit properly. And for once, I was explained in DETAILS what was going on with my rabbit and why and what to do about it. They didn't just give me meds without explaining what and why first. Plus, during the exam, my rabbit relaxed a lot quicker than at the other places he's been at, I take this as a two thumbs up from the patient himself
From my experience they are recommendable and efficient for dealing with rather benign issues. Actually quite good and competent when it comes so solving "minor", simple issues that could, if unsolved, result in more-or-less critical outcomes. But for more critical and chronic (yet quite usual) issues, unfortunately, their mistakes can lead to a pet's death, after expenses in the 4-digit range (and an agony of several months for the pet). They will also tend to refuse, or be reluctant about, major or minor surgical operations and recommend the customer to go with the more-expensive-on-the-long-term (and potentially absurd to the highest degree) medication option. Too bad... in the beginning I was satisfied with their services, but now I switched to another clinic. Maybe their expertise varies with the type of pet, but in my case, I am far from happy about my experience with them.
Lovely place. They saved a pigeon who was having seizures on the sidewalk outside
$50 to consult with a specialized veterinarian is extremely good value, it's cheaper than some regular dog/cat vets charge. What you are paying for is a consultation - the vet examines your animal, explains their current state of health and any possible diseases and makes recommendations based on their extensive knowledge and experience. Of course testing is required to confirm a disease, would you rather just randomly pick a treatment plan and pay for medication that may not be treating the right problem? Of course testing costs extra - how do you think it works for human medicine? Owning a pet is a financial responsibility and the vet is making their recommendations based on what is best for your pet, not to 'make you feel guilty and grab more money.' They became vets because they care about animals. The staff at this clinic are friendly, the atmosphere is great, the vets know what they are talking about and they care about your pet. I drive from the other side of the city for their expertise.
