Halian's is a great local vet who really cares for your animal. They won't do anything unnecessary or outside of their expertise but will explain issues and has an agreement for out of hours work with the Veterinary hospital at South Mimms. I've had lots of problems with other vets doing work that was later clearly not necessary, such as as one vet taking a cat with clear blood infection signs, into hospital for x-rays, and another local vet putting pressure on me to agree to the castration of a well adjusted, non-aggressive dog. You can be sure that whatever Halian's recommend is either absolutely necessary or they will talk you through why they recommend it.
