My dog has been sick and I just wanted to see if they could see her before I got paid. Which was the next day. The symptoms were severe and I was so worried. I called to see if they could see her and the lady on the phone said I could wait until the next day until i got paid. I asked if she was medically trained she said no. I work in a clinic and was told to never give any medical advice because I have not been trained medically. They are greedy and with the limited pet er just after the money. Diamond isn't better either. Anchorage needs more options.
Dr. Zerkel and Tiffany Bashers were so nice. I would definitely recommend them.
My cat Radius became very sick with no reason to our knowledge. We live in an area where we had to fly him in. They were very patient with us trying to get things figured out to get him into Anchorage. They called us twice with information within a few hours of him showing up. They were very caring and loved Radius, giving him a lot of attention. The vet taking care of him decided to put him on a specific diet and even brought her own cat food from home to see if he would eat it. Radius will be home tonight (Tuesday) and I cannot wait to see him. They are truly amazing people and animal lovers!
At 0540 on a Sunday morning, I found my dog shivering, shaking, and unable to walk. Drove straight to the facility, where they placed an IV in him, and worked through diagnoses to an epileptic seizure. He continued to seize for hours, so they medicated him, drew blood for testing, and finally were able to bring the seizing under control. He was there across two doctor's shifts, and several attendants, all of whom showed the utmost concern and care. Each doctor was professional and empathetic, and explained every option and possibility well. The treatment was expensive as he was there for a couple of days, but I have no doubt that Elvis would not have survived without their care and expertise. In the event of an emergency, I will be counting on them again.
We brought our dog in last night (Saturday) following a moose attack. She was in really bad shape, and at first we weren't even sure if she'd even survive the car trip. The staff and Dr. Deidrich (I apologize if I'm misspelling) were really phenomenal. They were very good about emphasizing with both our dog's pain and our grief. They were initially able to stabilize Jinx enough to attempt surgery, but ultimately she did not survive. The facility had a private room with a futon that we were able to wait comfortably in, and they let us go into the back and visit our dog frequently. Every effort was made, and our dog was kept under constant observation. Although she was beyond saving, we feel a lot better knowing she passed calmly and comfortably. The staff was very respectful, and I think just about all of them shed tears right along side us.
