The people here are friendly and have given my dog years of extra life as well as special care. If you want the best care for your animal this is the place to take them.

Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to the staff at Alabama Veterinary Specialists for taking care of my Lola. I was very scared when I first brought her in, she was bleeding from her rectum. They gave her immediate attention and treated her like she was one of their own. My husband and I don't have children, so the 2 dogs that we have are like our children. It was very comforting to know that we could leave her overnight in ICU and she would be taken care of. Dr. Buird and her team overnight were very caring and compassionate as were the daytime staff. The first 24 hours were very critical for Lola and they did everything they needed to do to save her life. I am eternally grateful for the entire staff and their knowledge.

We were referred to Alabama Veterinary Specialists by our regular vet after they could not figure out why our 11 year old Beagle mix was anemic. Alabama Veterinary Specialists diagnosed him with Autoimmune Hemalytic Anemia and immediately began treatment. Our dog had to stay with them for three days so they could monitor him. They were so nice and every time I called to check on him, I was able to speak directly with the Dr. treating our dog. I was even able to go visit him when ever I wanted. I was worried about the final bill after all the treatment our dog received but it wasn't too bad, actually less than I thought it would be. These guys are great. I am thinking of making them our regular vet from now on.

This clinic and it's staff are caring, informative and professional. I have been a client of Dr. Nelms for almost 20 years and found that not only herself, but her equally quality Staff & Vet Staff to be outstanding. I never hesitate to recommend them for any emergency situation. As quality Eye care specialists, I have found them to always be on top of the latest information and procedures. They receive A+++ in my book!

Dr. Nelms and her staff are top notch. I wouldn't think of taking my dog anywhere else. It's obvious they care about the animals they treat.
