I went today for a first visit and what a disappointment! I had read the poor reviews and thought you can't make everyone happy. I am 55 and had pets all my life and this is the worst/burnt out veterinary hospital I have been to. I moved here from out of state and needed a rabies vaccination/new Vet so I googled vets and saw some prices and chose Dr. Renfroe. I had a appointment and waited 30 minutes to be seen. I told the assistant about a sore on the tip of my dogs tail from wagging and hitting items she said the doctor would look at it. They both returned I mentioned the tail again & he said it was common (which I knew), listened to her chest, gave vaccination and preceded to leave. I asks what about her tail he replied to put some tape on it, then left. I go to pay for the shot and it was 2x the amount I saw on the internet. The office clerk stated they did not have a website, she got Dr. Renfroe and he stated the same, then ducked back behind the lobby door. While paying I told the clerk that they should address the incorrect information along with all the negative reviews that were posted. She said "IT DOES NOT MATTER--HE DOES NOT CARE" I told her it was obvious and I would not be returning with any of my pets. The building looks as if maintenance has been deferred for many years and seeing the pics in side from patients it nice long ago. You definitely feel they have one foot out the door.....SAD!!! Save your time & money.

Dr. Renfroe has been our vet for over 22 years for 7 different dogs. From routine care to more complex problems he has always been exceptional. When we have to board our dogs we always board them here because we know they will be well cared for. If you are looking for an experienced reasonably priced vet who will take exceptional care of your pets, there is none better than Dr. Renfroe. The staff here has also always been great. We drive all the way across town to continue to bring our dogs to Dr. Renfroe's office.

We adopted a Greenwing Macaw that was approx 7-9 years old & the poor thing had never saw a vet. His foot started swelling badly from the band that was put on him as a baby, so I called Dr.Renfroe's office. They were able to get Frankie in the next business day. Dr.Renfroe checked Frankie out & told us that the skin on poor Frankie's foot was growing around the band. I already wanted the band removed because it appeared that was the reason for the swelling. Dr.Renfroe agreed and removed the band so that Frankie could get some relief. He told me that the swelling should go down & that Frankie would have a so foot for a few days. That was 3 weeks ago, the swelling is completely gone & Frankie is walking on his cage better than before. I would recommend Dr.Renfroe, he was great with Frankie & not to mention he is one of the very very few that will even touch one of these large birds. I mean seriously, these birds can crush a knukle easily when they want to so I understand why some Dr's dont want to treat them. :)

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Renfroe for years and I like him very much. I have notice the past couple of years Dr. Renfroe does not take the time with my dogs as his use too. He examines them so quick, I am in and out of the exam room with my dog in less than 10 minutes, and there is a big bill waiting at the checkout desk with Mrs. Renfroe. The last time my dog boarded there when I brought her home she ate and ate. I called to ask them did the dog eat the 3 days she was boarded. They swore up and down that she ate hearty. I am still suspicious of that. After looking into the way the board the dogs I am not satisfied; time is not spent with the dogs. They are just locked up in their pin. There is no grassy area at their facility to walk the dogs or allow them to take care of their business. I have found out there is no tech on duty or comes in at night to monitor the dogs. I think Dr. Renfroe is a good vet but, I think his tactics are a bit out dated. I understand rates do increase with all types of service, but Dr. Renfroe has really increased his rates and it seems is that they are about the MONEY now. I think his service does not equal the present rates that they are charging. In other words as a long time customer of Dr. Renfroe, I think his quality of service is not what it used to be and has declined. I am planning to move my dogs to another Veterinarian once I find one that I am comfortable with.

In the last month I have taken a stray we were about to place in a forever home and our personal new English Bulldog to this clinic. We suspected the stray was pregnant and wanted to get her checked out by Dr. Renfroe. He saw her and said she was NOT pregnant and that it looked like she had been spayed. We gave her to the new family and she had three puppies a week later. We took out bulldog there during that week for his first shots where they tested for parasites and worms, they said he was negative. After the obvious lack of basic veterinary knowledge about the pregnant stray I figured we should have the new puppy looked at. Sure enough he had a severe case of worms! We have done nothing but waste our money at this vet. We did used to board our previous dog there and she seemed to love it! Came home clean and happy for 10/night. Morale of this story, I would board an animal here but NEVER take a loved pet there for medical care.
