I called Dr. Hillman after hours regarding our "baby", a 10 yr old teacup poodle, who had suddenly developed a distended abdomen; bloat. Dr. Hillman offered to return to the clinic for us, or he offered a treatment that we could try at home; simethicone liquid (Baby Gas drops). We followed his directions regarding the simethicone treatment and within an hour our baby was well on her way to recovery. This morning she is only showing signs of being "worn out" from her experience (as I'm sure we all would!), but otherwise is her normal self. I understand now that canine bloat can be, and usually is, fatal if not treated immediately and properly. My wife and I are new to the area and had no knowledge of Lincoln Veterinary Clinic until last nights episode and subsequent internet search for local veterinarians. Thank you Dr. Hillman for making yourself available and for helping us to help our baby. You and your clinic will be TOP on our list the next time we need veterinary care for our baby.
