I went here because they offer wellness plans that fit into a budget. I had done this before in Pensacola and had a decent experience so I thought it would be similiar here in Mobile (on Airport). They are very unprofessional, especially the staff at the front desk. When I went to pick my cat up I kept learning more and more about a visit that had gone not as planned, instead of just being told everything up front. They were unable to do a simple IV, which I know could have been done because it was done 12 hours later at another vet with minimial problems even with the bruising caused by Banfield. Bottom line your pets health and overall wellbeing is worth paying a little bit more with a professional vet. I will never take my animals back to Banfield, not even for simple exams. If you care about your pet you wont either. There are very good vets that also offer plans like the wellness plan, do your homework I wish I had.

I have never used Banfield before and I got a coupon in the mail from Petsmart for a free exam. It just so happened that our dog was limping and holding her foot up. After examining it at home, we couldn't see anything and decided to take our girl and use the exam coupon. It turned out to be a simple infection from an ant bite. Nothing earth shattering, but treatment was definitely required. Imagine our surprise when the bill came to a whopping $160. After she rung it up, we reminded her about the coupon and she said she "could not" take it off, and instead we could use the coupon in two weeks (which would be after it expired) when we returned for a follow up exam. After thinking about it I declined that "offer", demanding that the money be credited back for the full coupon value. I also said that I will not return for the two week follow up pointing out that I would use our usual vet instead. That's not the end of it either. Later, we get a call saying that they overcharged us for the medication for our girl's foot by another $30. This was an interesting turn of event. How would I have known this? I wouldn't have, had they not notified me. Either way, I don't trust them now and for this reason I won't return. Did they rectify the situation? Yes, as well they should have. Should the coupon situation have ever happened in the first place? Absolutely not. I find it unacceptable that they tell me they don't know how to credit it back, and instead tell me to "try again later." I also was a bit put off that they wanted to aspirate my dogs fat deposits. I have had two very different veterinarians say that they are fat deposits, and are nothing to worry about. Why then would Banfield want to do a biopsy? Is it for the money, or genuine concern for the dog? I don't know. I just can't shake the feeling that it was financial motivation. Use your own best judgement here. That's all I can say.

The staff here is friendly and helpful. We recently had to board our dogs and they faxed their records to the kennel without any problems. We especially like Dr. Moe. She is great with our dogs and always patiently answers all of our questions
