Dr. Leech was cool, so were a couple of the vet techs. Otherwise everyone else I talked to up there was clueless. 350 dollars, and they could not figure out why my cat was throwing up blood. X-rays, bariatric scan, and keeping her overnight. They never did blood work, and their next step was to do invasive exploratory surgery. Thankfully when we were taking her home for the weekend Dr. Leech gave us some anti nausea medicine, and that let whatever was in her system pass through without her throwing everything up. Though even he seemed surprised that the other doctor who saw her wanted to do surgery with no blood work. Then to get my 6 month old kitten spayed it was almost 170 dollars. Seriously, thank goodness I had $40 off from the Springdale Animal Shelter. I know I should have gotten a quote beforehand, but I had heard so many great reviews of this place, I figured only the best care of my kitties. After the last couple of months, I know this is not it. Edit: Update. One of the other cats I took to them, they told me she just had irritable bowel syndrome...she is dead now, she had a tumor growing on her intestines. We did try other vets, but Wedington Animal Hospital was the only one who would do an x-ray on her to find the problem, and by then it was too late.
I been taking my cat and Pug to Stanton Animal Hospital for 2 years now. Every visit has been great. The staff is always super polite and professional. I honestly do not have one single bad thing to say about this vet so far. There office hours are perfect for working pet owners, and they always seem to be very concerned if there is a problem with my pets. When my Stormie (pug) scratched her eye when she was puppy, Stanton Hospital took great care of her. We weren't sure if she was going to end up going blind or not, but they made sure to cover all basis and took great care of her. I have always been grateful for the vet office.
We have been taking our animals to Stanton for as long as I can remember and I am now 21 years old. When we moved to Lowell we switched to someone who was closer to home. When that vet almost killed my dog we rushed her to Stanton who saved her life and she ended up living 3 more very happy years. I recently got a chocolate lab puppy from the animal shelter who was a mere 6 weeks old. She started vomiting on Saturday morning around 4. We were able to take her in to see dr Butler at 7:15 (15 minutes before they opened) on Saturday morning. The next night I actually RECEIVED a call from her to see how my puppy was feeling and to check on her. All the vets there are wonderful and helpful and truly care about the animals they see. I recommend them to everyone!!!
So far, I love this vet. I was recommended by a friend years ago, but always wanted to stay with my current vet because they were good as well. Just recently, my husband and I bought a Pug Puppy, week later, she had scratched her eye. She was already seen from Dr. Leach prior to us buying her from the breeder, so we thought "better to be safe" since he had her records already. What amazing experience, he was very informative, answered all my questions, and I felt very good about the visit. Since then I have been there 3 times, each and every time, was great.
I really like the Stanton Animal Hospital. There is more than one vet, so if you need to you can switch the vet really easily. I love that I can always get an appointment here, as I always schedule last minute. The assistants are super nice and very efficient, and appointments are very quick. As a first time dog owner, they have answered any questions I may have had and never make me feel bad for bringing a dog in "just for a checkup" :) They also have an on-call vet in case of emergencies. I think their services might be a little pricey, but for the quality and efficiency of service I will stay with them.
