Our dogs and cats come to Pinnacle Valley Animal Hospital despite having animal clinics much closer to our home. Dr. Mahaffey and Dr. Irene are awesome with all 4 of our pets. Dr. Bierbaum has not seen our animals yet, but I am sure he is every bit as awesome.

Dr. Mehaffy has been taking care of our rescue dog for most of her life. She is so patient and caring with our neurotic dog (and neurotic dog's "parents".) We drive past several vets across town to go to her. The staff are always friendly and caring as well.

We took our Lorelei (Border Collie Mix rescue) when she was about 4 months old b/c she was have diarrhea and throwing up. At the time her vet was Dr. Bierbaum. We took her to him FOUR TIMES with the same problems and he just said she had Camphylobactor, gave her some medicine and sent us on our way. One of the times we didn't even see him! The assistant just gave us the medicine and sent us home. Two of times they didn't even run any tests on her to make sure that's what it was! He just assumed. Needless to say I was FURIOUS and demanded that we not be seen by him anymore. So we switched to Dr. Maffey and in 2 visits she had Lorelei's problem figured out. She has bile reflux. Now Lorelei just has to eat some baby food in the morning and before bed. So, the bad was definitely Dr. Bierbaum for doing a half-a$$ed job and charging for everything when he wasn't fixing anything! And the good is Dr. Maffey who took a real and very personal interest in Lorelei and didn't even charge us b/c she knew that we had paid for tests, and medications that had nothing to do with her problem. I would recommend Pinnacle Valley to anyone but I would recommend using Dr. Maffey!

Let's put it this way - I drive from Lonoke, where there's a vet right around the corner from me, to Pinnacle Valley Animal Hospital!! That's a 45 min drive, one way. Our four footed kids shall always have the privilege to see Dr. Bierbaum. There is no better.
