Recently moved to Little Rock from Florida and was looking for a vet for my nervous rescued Boxer. I read a negative review and decided to go elsewhere. My neighbor assured me that Rowdy would be treated with kid gloves and patience at this clinic. I decided to go with her recommendation. Glad that I did. Rowdy was too nervous to go inside. They saw that I needed assistance and came outside to help me. Then as I was filling out the paperwork the tech sat down with Rowdy and quietly talked to him. Before long he was asking for a belly rub. This is the first clinic that did not have to muzzle and use brute force to examine him. All of the staff was gentle with him. The doctor also took the time to get down on the floor with him and let him get to know her. As regards to the negative post, in my experience the charges were actually lower than in Florida and were very appropriate. As far as hearing back the next day for test results: Rowdy's tests were sent to a major veterinary lab and they even offered to email the result to me.
Very terrible and frustrating experience with this vet. I recently moved out of Oklahoma and there I had been getting our dogs annual shots for $25 per dog, very reasonable price. So this vet had a decent review so I decided I would try them out. The shots were triple the price they should have been. But it doesn't end there. They called me the next day to tell me one of my dogs have hook worms, I thought that was strange because usually I would notice something like that but whatever I went to get the medicine they wanted to give him. Another $25. The next week I was researching into hook worms, symptoms, prevention, etc. and turns out my dog doesn't have hook worms and even if he did this one time treatment is no good unless he gets another treatment two weeks after. So I called the vet asked them if a one time treatment will in fact get rid of hook worms they swear it will. So basically the $170 wasn't enough to begin with they decided to rip me off on medicine that my dog doesn't even need. Completely untrustworthy people. DONT GO TO THEM.
Drs Greg and his assistant attended to the needs of our pet when we had to put her down. It was an extremely tough time for my wife and I to make this type of decision. Ultimately, we chose to end the dogs suffering. The professionals at Rodney Parham Animal clinic treated us with respect and dignity throughout the process. Even though it was a hard time for us, we now know it was the right decision to use this animal hospital. Thank you guys so much for your kind words and professional approach in this difficult decision.
