Terrible experience. avoid at all costs! went there last night with my family to get cat checked out (he didn't seem right). was told he had major urinary tract obstruction & $1,200.00 surgery was only chance he had (no guarantees of course). then doctor tells me if no surgery, I NEEDED to put cat down. After telling her I'd like to just take MY CAT home she went full court press on the guilt trip & basically held my cat hostage in back exam room. I come to front counter & received more of same verbal abuse from receptionist in front of my daughter's & other customers. Very unprofessional to say the least. i was made out to be the bad guy (seriously?) After arguing with her for 15 minutes, I finally agreed to put our cat down. was rushed to sign consent form & rush home to pick up son so he could see cat one last time. then it was $65.00 for cremation (not previously mentioned). wow...they took an already bad situation & made it a horrible, horrible far worse situation. shame on your whole staff for your service & behavior... Will tell everyone I know about my bad experience at this hospital....

Alta Vista Vet is the best thing for animal care I have found! They are a blessing to the valley for any pet care! I am so thankful for their service in treating my dog Zeek! Thank you so much and keep up the excellent work! Frank Q

I am shocked to be reading some of these bad reviews. I mean thanks for the feed back and info but really if I went off of what was mentioned in these reviews Drazer and I would have never met the most amazing professionals ever! With that being said let me tell YOU folks our experience. I am new to Phoenix and it was time for Drazer's annual check up. So how did we go about finding him a place? That's right Google! After reading up on reviews and places I thought, really Alta Vista is the closes one to us, so I called to schedule an appointment. 1) the phone call.... scheduled and was able to come in the same day. Really no extra charge if I scheduled now.... nope. Done! 2) appointment.... 3 hours later Drazer and I are waiting in the lobby with two other dogs... hmmmm spacious, smells clean and an appointment the same day (nice). About 15 minutes or so a smiling, bright uniformed tech calls for Drazer. Sissy introduced herself to us and went on asking me questions about Drazer. She was very professional, nice and Drazer loved her. She talked to him as she was writing my answers down and his temperature. She left and said the doctor would be in shortly. Dr Jang came in about 10 minutes later and she too was exceptional! She obviously read what was written down and simply verified the information. She told me his heart and lungs sound great, he was a good weight, and for me to keep up the good work. She recommended he get a dental because he had some tarter and that it wouldn't be a bad idea for bloodwork because of his age. She finished her exam and then a different tech named Dana returned with a plan. Whoa 750 to 1000 for a dental? Yes shocker but then it was explained to me and okay sign Drazer up! 3) check out.... Rosey cashed me out and while doing so she was calm, collective and aware of what was going on. Over all our experience was AWESOME! So please before you decide to "judge" a place by its Google take a chance you never know what you might find. Hugo

Took my dog to Alta Vista in 2014 for an emergency visit her paw was hurt. They patched her paw and I paid for services rendered. I was instructed to return the next day for Post Op follow up, to check paw and bandage. Returned with dog- waiting room was hectic dogs and staff everywhere. A tech saw my dog in waiting room, checked her bandage says she looked great and she (we ) could go. They didn't have me go to front desk, when I asked if we should come back she said "No" she's healing well", when I asked if there was a charge she said "No" it's a follow up from surgery. She gave me her leash and we left. Now, years later I've been turned over to a collection agency! I've called several times and spoken with Michael and left messages for Angie and they have laughed at me (Michael) saying I don't know why Angie hasn't called you back. Meanwhile NOTHING has been done about removing the charge. Do Not go here their accounting sucks and trying to resolve any issue seems impossible. It's $58.00 and they can't seem to bother themselves. I do not recommend them just imagine if they treat us like that, how do they treat the animals?

This place is amazing. I took Sparky here last Friday & walked in without an appointment. The people at the desk were so friendly and nice to my dog, even though Sparky had a nasty accident in the lobby (diarrhea). This is what I was bringing him for, he got into the trash earlier in the day :(, the doctor assistant took us back pretty quickly and the doctor saw him shortly after that. They gave me options which I appreciate, I took Sparky home with some medications and he ended being ok. They did recommended some testing just to be sure everything was ok but I wanted to try medications first and see if he got better. I never felt pressed which I REALLY APPRECIATE. The doctor even called a few days later to check on him. I will go back here (hopefully not to soon). Sparky Thanks you Alta Vista!
