First of all let us tell you this clinic has been sold and their name has change. The vet that was responsible for the care of our female schnauzer on New Years day at 5am, interest was for getting more money out of us. Our dog had health issues prior into going there. The vet pretty much insisted on doing a bunch of tests from a spread sheet and the bottom line was money the low amount and high amount. Yes, x-rays was taken and the vet wanted to contact a radiologist for advice if there was a tumor, we said no. Our dog had chronic kidney issues from eating Wagon Train Duck treats that almost killed her 2 years ago and she was on a special diet and medication for the rest of her life. The issue she was bought into the clinic as she was not rebounding from the medication prescribe to her for colitis. Eventually there was a blood test given showing her kidneys was shutting down. But, we could keep her there for 2 to three days for treatment at the cost of 35000.00 to 2500.00 when we said she will go back to our Vet on Friday that knew her diagnosis. The attitude from this clinic's Vet was just put her down now. We did on our decision in saving a beloved family member from suffering any further. But, this clinic did charge us from a call made to a radiologist when we expressly requested in doing so, as she did not have a tumor she had chronic kidney and liver issues from those Duck treats. All it would taken was a blood test to prove we knew what our dog health issues. Parents of any beloved pets be aware this clinic has been sold and now they treatment plan is to make money from distressed human owners. I am so mad that a Young 30 something Vet really didn't show much passion on the care of our dog. The 2 female Techs had more concern and compassion towards the pain of loosing a loved one . Only reason we went back our previous dog that we had put down due to a brain tumor was taken care of through this clinic before it was sold

My dog had a swollen throat and was acting like she didn't feel well so we had taken her to the closest vet that was open late. They took her back, barley asked any questions, said they aspirated it and nothing came out. finally said they were not sure with out doing x rays. They recommended giving her benadryl and said it was not life threatening she was breathing fine and we shouldn't worry. We took her home followed their directions. Next day she couldn't breath, so I took her to our normal vet. All her lymph nodes are swollen, they gave her prendzoin which is a steroid and chemotherapy drug. Said they were able to aspirate it and get fluid for testing. How do you not notice that all the lymph nodes are swollen if your a vet??? I could have used that $120 towards the tests!!! Last time I was at Sonoran was with my sisters dog and they told us there's nothing they could do and ended up putting our other dog to sleep. Now I'm wondering if that was the best call. I will never come to this place again. They don't care about anything excepted the money in their pockets. Alta Vista animal hospital actually cares about my dog and me, even called me today to see how she was doing. And they actually know way they're doing. I would recommend them. As a less than a week later update... my baby has lymphoma. If I would have continued giving her what Sonoran recommended she would be dead right now! Alta Vista charged $45 for the visit and only $130 for the cytology report. Sadly she probably doesn't have much longer. But how could Sonoran not recognize that! !! Disgusted with them!

This place is amazing and I would recommend them to anyone!! They are very helpful and considerate. I called because I had a question about my cat and they were very helpful by letting me ask questions and helped ease my concerns. I have also has a cat that had surgery performed here and they were the best. They treated my cat with such care and love.

I took my dog here after finding out my 1st choice of emergency vet had relocated out of the area. The Vet we saw was very kind, professional and took time answering all of my questions and concerns. The front office staff, however, is the reason for my low rating and why I will not return here. Instead being greeted by a simple hello or smile, they hand you a clipboard of paperwork, ask you what the problem is and tell you someone will be with you shortly. After their 'work' is done, they make no attempt to make eye contact or conversation, or even acknowledge you or pet's existence for that matter. They next time I'm up against an stressful, uncertain emergency concerning my pets, I will bring my business to a place where I feel welcome and the staff has a heart for people and animals - not just a paycheck.

I was out of town when my dog got attacked by another dog while I was out of town. I had heard good things about Sonora on the other side of town which is a sister clinic. So I told my parents to take my dog to the one on the Westside. They said my dog had minor injuries and sent him home. My dog died a day later and was very critical. Upon my return to town we took him to his regular veterinary clinic who did everything they could, but he did not make it. I think the thing that irratating me the most was when I called the Dr. would not get on the phone to talk to me. Now my very sweet best friend is dead.
