We had been boarding our Italian Greyhound, Angel, to AMSC for about 4 years and had only the BEST experiences! Angel had never been boarded before using AMSC, and after a few visits, she actually enjoyed her stay...the staff is very friendly and caring, and we like that there is someone on duty 24/7...We have just started boarding our new baby, Zita, (4 month old Italian Greyhound) and she is already getting to enjoy her visits...we'd HIGHLY recommend AMSC for anyone needing to board a pet...
We were referred to AM&SC on an emergency basis by our vet in Payson. We had a critical situation with our beloved sheltie, Jenee. Dr. Linney and the entire staff of doctors and nurses and techs performed what we can only describe as a miracle. Jenee underwent major surgery and with the loving care of everyone at AM&SC she is now home and regaining her energy and health daily. We will be forever grateful for the loving and warm attitude exhibited by everyone at the center. We walked into the facility with incredible fear and worry...we walked out with hope and immense respect for the professionalism of everyone there. Thank you for our miracle.
Our dogs didn't want to come home. They were in a princess condo together and usually do not like to be left when mom and dad go on vacation. They ate all their food, played, and felt right at home with the wonderful staff!
I am so pleased with the Animal Medical & Surgical Center. Just walking in shows the professionalism you will receive. The staff and doctors were caring and patient. They understand that the reason you're there is a "Family Member" (not just a pet) needs care. I was also impressed with the attention they gave me. It was very important that they kept you updated at all times. They called me when Chase (min poodle/bichon mix) was being prepped for surgery (surgery on both back knees) and half way through the surgery to say how he was doing and how it was going. Shortly after the surgery, his doctor (Dr Linney) called me with an update on how everything went. I have had many dogs that required some type of surgery. I've never had a veterinary clinic call so often. Usually you drop your pet off and don't hear from them again until well after the surgery. I REALLY appreciated this. It helped to keep my anxiety and worry to a minimum. Chase is doing very well and should be running again in the near future. I have already recommended the facility to several people and will continue to do so. Thanks to everyone at the center....YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!
I've been going to this practice since I moved to Scottsdale in 2011. Most of my visits have been with Dr. Ariano, and we have been very pleased with the care she has given our cats. While I was out of town on vacation recently, my cat sitter had to take the cat to the vet because of a possible problem with his seizure medicine. Dr. Ariano was out of town, so the cat was treated by Dr. Pullen. Dr. Pullen called me twice (before/after blood work) to discuss the options on adjusting the cat's medicine until I returned home. The bill included a normal vet charge, blood workup charges, and an additional $44 charge listed as "vet tech". When I called to inquire about this "vet tech" charge as I had never been charged anything like that in the past, I was told that because the vet had to spend extra time (because he called me on the phone), and because he had to write up discharge notes for my cat sitter, this extra charge was necessary. I've never heard anything more ridiculous! Since when does a vet charge extra for writing up discharge notes? Is there now a time limit on a visit? My cat sitter is a professional who owns pets, so it's not like he was talking to someone who didn't understand animals. I find it disappointing that it appears the vet is taking advantage of a pet owner being out of town. If I had not just been there the previous week where the cat had a complete check-up, it would be different. I will be reconsidering where we go in the future. UPDATE: After seeing this review on Facebook, I was contacted by someone in the practice who has resolved my issue and credited my account for the $44 charge.
