My 17 year old kitty was diagnosed with cancer. It was very difficult to accept this news, but it was even more difficult to deal with the lack of compassion for my animal in her ending stages of life. The vet I had originally took her to recommended an immediate blood transfusion at the tune of $3,000. When I declined the treatment, they recommended I put her down immediately and said "I don't know if she will even make it through the night". My kitty was still enjoying her life: roaming the house, jumping on the bed, watching the birds outside our window, eating, drinking, and using the litter box. I began searching for a new vet, as it felt so inhumane to put down a cat that was not showing signs of suffering. I began searching for a new vet to accommodate her ending stages of life, and I ran across the VCA Elliot Park animal hospital. When my kitty began suffering, I called to schedule an appointment to have her euthanized. I could not have asked for a more peaceful experience. The VCA showed so much compassion for my animal, and my family during this difficult time. There was no waiting, they put us in a room immediately. They explained every step of the procedure, and allowed us as much time as we felt we needed with our kitty before helping her pass. They had her room ready with a padded bed, fuzzy blanket, and a kitty angel charm I could take home with me. They took her in the backroom to insert the cath, and brought her in to once again spend as much time as we wanted with her before the doc came in. When it was time, the doctor gave her an injection to put her to sleep, and checked to make sure she was fully unconscious before inserting the lethal injection. My kitty felt no pain, and very peacefully crossed over into heaven. As difficult as this was to do, I could not have asked for better people to take care of her in her final moments of life. I am so thankful for such a positive experience during such a tragic time. Even though the vet was closed at our time of departure, we were never pushed out the door. After this experience, I would never take one of my animals anywhere else for treatment. They were excellent!

Had two kitties that I took to Dr. Mark Loeschen at this animal hospital...from the time the kitties were small when I first adopted them to the time they peacefully passed, 19-years later! He was a fantastic vet and I would highly recommend this animal hospital because everyone working there was very caring and helpful, especially at the end.

We love bringing our two dogs in to the staff at this office. Staff is wonderful! I like that they price everything out before hand so you know what you're paying at the end, and there are never surprises. Again, everyone on staff is genuine, caring and friendly-just wonderful.

The vet is great, showing care to your pet. Vet. cost visit is about average. Now, my lab has a benign tumor, the cost that they estimate for surgery is five times than other vets. I'm not going to say who the other vet., but take your time and compare other vet. if you are in that situation. PS: For some reasons is always displaying 5 stars (I actually put 3 stars)
