My 6 year old Rottie had Pyometra, a deadly uterine infection requiring an emergency spay last night. I live in Sierra Vista and my vet told us to get her to Tucson ASAP. My husband and I called 3 of the 24 hour clinics while getting everything ready for the long drive. Yes, finances are stressful when you don't have pet insurance and you're facing debt to pay for emergencies. The staff did everything possible to reduce this burden; they took my verbal lab report results and viewed the X-rays we had, luckily, taken pictures of with our cell phone, all done the day before, which saved us repeating those costs. They went out of their way to give me an accurate quote over the phone (getting both attending vets to work on it) when normal procedure is to wait for the vet to do an exam. The cost came in well under the other clinics and this allowed us to get her the care she needed. That is so appreciated! The customer service on the phone was outstanding. The professionalism of the staff at the clinic was outstanding. They did their very best to provide the required care at a fair price. I will promote this clinic to Sierra Vista residents (we are without ER Vet care after hours) via my pet sitting business and social media raves.
I had the worst experience 3 weeks ago at Valley Animal Hospital. My dog got a deep gash in her side which needed stitches, the staff seemed mildly responsive to me even though there was no one else in the waiting room. I have been to other Vet Emergency facilities where the staff have been helpful, caring, and empathetic. I left my dog and had to pay almost 90% of the bill at 6:30 pm, I called at 10:30 pm and she still hadn't been attended to, the very rude technician who answered replied there are other more urgent needs, and brushed me off. I waited and called again at 12:30 am. When I called at 12:30 the person who answered said she (my dog) was getting out of surgery. At 1:30 I picked her up and paid the balance, never to return to this facility again. If my dog wasn't a priority they should have had me drive her across town and been worked on by a full staff instead of wait for hours. The actual treatment to my dog was fine, the personal treatment and customer service was TOTALLY horrible. During a very serious and emotional time for me, it would be nice to have people who seemed to care more and communicate better than this staff. I hope that they interact with animals better than they do with people. I did get a follow up call, which I was shocked to receive, but opted to take my dog back to my regular vet to get the stitches removed. Never again!
My past visits we great until yesterday. Saturday night I took my cat in to the ER, and it turned out she had an enlarged heart. Dr. Schroth, and intern Chris were very nice, and sincere. Once the new doctor came on the scene, it went from good to bad. Dr. Moreno came off very cold and not sincere at all. I almost felt bad for asking additional questions. On normal visits I usually see Dr. Morgon, which i liked. I don't think this will be my go to place anymore. Too expensive and when I inquired about my cats oxygen levels prior to being placed in the oxygen tank, I couldn't get a straight answer. I really wanted to know if she had improved since the time I dropped her off. You think o2 levels would be a given considering she had shortness of breath and fluid in her lungs. So no one really took her full vitals during the 12 hours in the oxygen tank. They did take her temperature, which I could have done myself.
Great service and they truly care about the animals. I was going to another vet before and they would always take my dog into another room when treating him for even a shot. Looked into other vets on the east side and Valley Animal Hospital came highly recommended. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who lives on this side of town.
We had a Vet closer to our house, I was taking our 2 cats and dog to and he had me running so much and costing me an arm and a leg! He also claimed we needed shots, that we really didn't, so by luck I found Dr Harrington & Dr Warfield! Both are so compassionate and knowledgeable, they couldn't understand why the other Vet did that! They have saved us so much money and time! When it came time for Rico and Carlos to go over the rainbow, they were so kind and thoughtful to us! We still have Tracy Girl the dog and she loves to go see them and the Technicians! Everyone who works there is awesome!! We Love You Guys!
