When I moved into my apartment back in October, I called the Humane Society about my neighbor and his children. They have two dogs that have no shelter and when I first saw they had no bowls for water or food either and I saw the daughters actually kick the dog and poke a stick into eye area. Nothing was done and now that is cold they still have no shelter, but one dog stays out at a time. The Husky is beautiful and should be taken away and found a better home, actually both dogs should.

I think that having the humane society closed on Sundays is dumb. Animals and people hurt by animals doesn't stop happening just because its a Sunday. Right now I have guests at my hotel scared of a dog who is scared of them and being defensive and no one to call. I even called Barstow PD and they wouldn't do anything. Maybe its just this stupid town.

These animals deserve better!!!!! The younger staff here in general could care less about anything, they are rude on the phone, rude to your face, and do not care about animals. When I lost my cat last year, I called to see if an orange cat came in, the girl on the phone was very irritated that I asked here to lookat the cages, she refused to look and told me I hd to come in. When I came in I stood there while 6 people were talking about tv shows at the counter. When I finally got their attention the only thing the did for me was write in alog. 3 weeks ago I adopeted a kitten, she had an infection in her sutures where she was spade, a vey high fever, and a cold. My friend also adopted a cat last year from this shelter and he was very sick as well. If these people are voulenteers they need to find something they actually care about and do it. If they are staff, I would suggest a re-evaluation. I am disgusted and horrified with this shelter.
