Our lab threw up multiple times and acted very lethargic, so we had to take him to Dr. Brar to get him seen. The x-rays have shown that he ingested a foreign body, so we were given two options -- (1) to leave the dog under their care overnight and wait until the next day to see if this will just pass through his system, then we'll find out what the next course of action is or (2) surgically remove the foreign body immediately. He recommended Option 1 and did not push for surgery, unless it becomes medically-necessary. Dr. Brar explained the situation very thoroughly, answered all our questions very patiently, and kept us well-informed during the entire time that our dog was under his care. My husband and I are very impressed and thankful to have found Castro Valley Animal Hospital. This excellent level of care is unparalleled, and we have not experienced anything close to the level of service they provide! I highly recommend everyone to consider Dr. Brar to be your pet's primary care provider, and you and your pets will experience an excellent level of care that you deserve. His rates are very reasonable, and they are open until 10pm everyday, including Saturday and Sunday, which is great especially for people like me who work until 6pm.
I am very thankful to CVAH, as they are available till 10pm all 7 days of the week. As I had to rush in my cat "Minnie" on 05/02/2013 at 09:30pm. She had ingested a string and was non stop vomiting. Dr. Brar informed me that she will need surgery after doing x-rays on site. They are so accommodating that they finished surgery on "Minnie" same night staying there even after their closing time. I picked up my lovely "Minnie" today and I was charged very reasonably. I am very happy after my experience and highly recommend CVAH. They are very compassionate and affordable.
The employees (I believe is only comprised of 2 people) seem a bit scattered sometimes, and I always feel like I am their only "customer". There's never more than 1 car in the parking lot and never anyone else there, so I don't know how many patients they actually have. They are very reasonable, and can almost ALWAYS see dogs on short notice. For that reason, I am incredibly thankful to have found this place when my dog had dangerous wounds. Although the vet's indian accent is hard to understand sometimes, my dog's conditions have always 100% healed when I followed his advice. I will continue to bring my dog here even though they are a bit further away. THANK YOU CVAH!!!
My lab ate chocolate and I have to rush into a hospital on last Sunday evening. Luckily, I found Castro Valley Animal Hospital stays open till 10pm everyday. They started treatment immediately. Staff were very nice and courteous. Pricing is very reasonable and saved me a lot from expensive ER visit. I will highly recommend this place.
