Dr Hoffman was easy to talk with and understand. She is very patient with my dog Lola, who can be shy sometimes. Dr Hoffman is providing just the right amount of care that my dog is in need of. She has not pushed any unnecessary treatments or procedures like I've had happen with others in the past. Lily was very friendly and helpful as were the staff. It's such a great relief that we have found a good Veterinarian Hospital to bring our furry friends to
I've liked all doctors but one (moffett) liked all tech's. Best place to take pet to be cremated
I live in San Francisco and don't have a car, but I still come all the way to Groveway Veterinary for my ferrets' care. Their prices are better than any SF vets I've been to, and their care is top-notch. Dr. Andrew Moffett is one of the most generous and caring doctors I've ever met, and he's extremely knowledgeable about ferrets. My little girl ferret Daphne passed away due to adrenal gland cancer a couple of years ago. Dr. Moffett didn't see her until she was too far gone to be helped much because we started out at a different vet, but he was very kind & gave accurate advice as to her treatment. I then took her brother Max to be seen for the same illness, and come to find out poor Max has a second, pancreatic cancer, as well. Luckily we caught his illness much earlier and he's had a mostly healthy year with Dr. Moffett's help. He's now 7 years old and still plays with his newer ferret friend Buddy, who is 3. One final story: There were a couple of weeks where I thought we were going to lose Max: He stopped eating, lost over half his body weight, and seemed listless and uninterested in life. Dr. Moffett was so concerned that he actually met me on a street corner to pick up Max and take him over to the clinic himself, when I couldn't get out of work to do it. Then he returned Max to me later that night after blood work & testing, we updated his medicines and he started eating again. I can't think of any other doctor who would provide that kind of caring, beyond-the-call-of-duty service, and I'm so grateful to know Dr. Moffett and Groveway Veterinary Clinic are here for us.
My girlfriend and I recently had a very good experience at this hospital. I am a little surprised by some of the other reviews. Our experience was very different it seems. We recently moved to the Hayward area and were recommended to this hospital by friend's. I called for an appointment and the very nice Cindy was able to squeeze me in at our preferred time after work. We saw Dr Leaper who was very thorough and friendly. We only waited about 2 minutes before being seen. The technicians, I think Jennifer and Denise, we kind and gentle to our little dog and explained all medications and recommendations. We were checked out promptly by Amanda, the Client Service Manager. She too was bubbly and informative. All in all a great experience. The front of the building is a little old and run down, but the place is bright and clean inside and the people were great. We will be back for our vaccinations in August.
I could not nor would I ever promote Groveway Vet again, after the passing of Russ Hackler. What they did to my puppy who went in for stitches, and I find out they cut off over 1" of his ear without getting my permission or to find out if he is a show dog, which he is! Then putting him on medication and denying the side effects, when I looked up the medications and the side effects; the doctor had lied. then had the nerve to say my puppy needed to be put to sleep 4 times in less than a minuet, and compared him to a gun toting child killer and all hunting breeds should have to wear muzzles 24 hours a day 7days a week. No one should take their pets to a vet who has their own agenda, making decisions for you without consulting you. When I called other vets they even implied that my puppies ear could have been cut off before the anesthesia has taken affect, by the way my puppy reacted to that doctor on the check up. I'm disgusted on how a vet could treat any animal in this manor. I could never tell anyone to ever use this vet ever again! All of the hard work and devotion to animals that Russ Hackler was known for, is gone.
