One of our two Basenji's became very agitated and distraught at 1:00 AM. We are new to the VCA in Lakewood and took her there immediately. They assessed her with an alergic reaction to a possible insect bite and treated her with medication which enabled her to rest for the night. In the morning we rerturned and saw her regular vet who diagnosed her with a severe rash which had developed over night for which she was given the appropriate medication (I'm a nurse). They also did a blood panel to rule out problems other than just an allergy. After a couple of days her condition improved and she is her old self. The emergency room doctor and our regular vet both made follow up calls to see how are girl was doing. Treatment was expensive but that is what emergency medication costs, that's why it's an emergency. I highly recommend the VCA Animal Hospital in Lakewook for their excellent care.

Hands down the best emergency clinic I've been to. The handoff between doctors and technician from shift to shift and day to day was seamless, and any time I had to deal with someone new during my pet's stay, they were up to speed on her case, helpful and compassionate. I can't speak highly enough of this hospital or its staff.

Once again, I decided to try out Lakewood VCA and once again was disappointed by the unexplained wait, when I had an appointment. I waited 1/2 hour, inquired, waited another 1/2 hour thinking I was the next one and then decided, I don't even wait this long for my own doctor. At the very least, the staff could inform me of the situation so that I wouldn't have wasted my time. There's another Vet place being built nearby, hope they are better with their customer service.

My boyfriend and I have 3 dogs and we have taken them there since Ursula came down with Parvo the day before she was supposed to get her first puppy shots. Our first visit was an emergency visit at 4 am, and we were quickly given treatment that we could afford. Our regular vet, Dr. Ribarich, and various vets we've seen for unplanned visits have been great to us. There have been times when out pocket book was a little tight and an emergency came up. We always let the vet know and each vet has worked with us to come up with a treatment plan that would work. It seems that there are a lot of complaints about costs, however, many people take on the responsibility of a pet without having the means to properly care for it. Don't get angry at the vet when you don't have the money to pay. If they provide services for people who skip out on their bill, prices will go up for responsible pet owners. VCA Lakewood is a clean, professional, and caring facility.

My experience with the staff at this facility was inadequate at best. The staff have no concept on how to deal with the public. I attempted to call the Office Manager and report the poor service and she refused my call, now I understand how the staff was trained! I hope no one ever has to use this service again. I would consider driving miles out of my way to avoid this location.
