Dr. Gebroe is a bucket of awesome! The cost is average when compared to veterinary care in Los Angeles but Dr. Gebroe is a totally rad dude. I'd pay more for his level of care. He loves animals and what he does for a living. So happy with his service!
Yes one of the receptionists is very old(enter sterotypes here), but there is a new one now as well who is more with it. Yes there is a mean vet there too who I have never delt with but have heard others say he is not nice. BUT Dr. Kidwell is the best vet I have ever met! He reminds me of an old, country doctor who has a passion for his work and LOVES animals. He saw my tiny kitten twice without charging me. He gave me great advice and FREE cat food for kittens. I am not a charity case on any level and expected to pay but he waved the charges since he just looked her over. It's a clean and calm there and there is no extra charges of some of those chain vets seem to add on.
Dr. Kidwell is great with my 2 bulldogs. He treats them as if they were his own. Plus he's been in the business for many years so he can diagnose my dogs illnesses in about 2 minutes...he's seen it all. The receptionist is...ok...not great but the techs are really nice and good with the dogs.
I don't know what happened to some of these other reviews, but I have never had a bad experience with this vet in the 2 years I have been going to them. I have seen Gebroe, but my main vet is Dr Kidwell. I agree that SOMETIMES the receptionist can get cantankerous, but if you can get past that the vets and vet techs are amazing. I have brought my dogs in for everything from rashes to regular check ups to shots. When one of my dogs needed a medicated bath and had to be put on a steroid regiment for a skin allergy (to the terrible LA air), I complied with all of the Docs instructions and the skin condition gradually went away. Only when I called back when one of her conditions did not improve (excessive shedding) did he ask that I come back in. I asked him if I should keep giving her the meds and he told me only if my dog needed them and that he didn't like over medicating. Their prices are very reasonable and do not charge for excess procedures and/or exams. I highly recommend them.
