We have been using Dr Tisdale for our dogs and cats for 20 years and we couldn't be happier with a good family vet. Dr Tisdale has the medical training as well as the empathy for people and their pets that has served to give our dogs and cats good quality lives (16 yrs german shepherd, 19 year old domestic short hair cat. We are now working with a beagle pup, a 2 yr old lab mix belonging to our daughter, a 7 year old feral cat and a 9 year old Russian Blue cat of our daughter. Dr Tisdale not only has the book training of a vet, but he is intuitive when it comes to what a dog or cat needs. He helped us give our 16 year old shepherd a good quality of life as she was coming to the end and we will always be grateful. He doesn't look at us and our pets with dollar sign in his eyes.
****WARNING****PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS GUY!!!!!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET DO NOT BRING HIM OR HER HERE! HE IS THE GRIM REAPER OF PETS! My experience- My husband had accidentally stepped on my 4 month old pit bulls (her name was Kisses) paw. Being that it is a tough economy my husband was laid off from his job and we really couldn't afford a vet so we went to the animal shelter in Fremont. They referred us to this woman who then referred us to Robert. My husband takes her as they agreed to help us two weeks had passed since the accident and even though I had splinted her arm/ paw my self and she was happy and trying to walk around and play- I wanted to make sure she was healing properly. Anyway as soon as she gets there they give her a shot (sedative). She is a very docile girl and very loving and was already getting drowsey. He checks her arm out and decides to do x-rays and decides to give her gas to knock her out. Might I add she is only 29lbs and 4 months old. I had set her bone at home and splinted it myself with no sedatives and gas she didn't even cry in pain! To make along story short her litlle heart stopped beating because obviously he gave her to many meds. She died and he didn't even apologize. How does a dog come into your office- tail wagging, and happy with just a broken paw, leave your office dead in a card board box? Aren't you supposed to weigh the dog and figure out the dosing appropriately? DON'T TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!!!
Dr. Tisdale treated my pets, notably cats, with insight and experience for many years. He is fantastic - a combination of many years of experience and current scientific knowledge. We moved to Oregon, and I miss Dr. Tisdale's quality of care more than anything else we left behind. Be sure to get Dr. Tisdale himself, and not a vet who is there helping him out.
