They don't care about cats. They only care about making money. I called inquiring about spay and neuter surgeries for feral cats. They told me it would be the same as for household cats. That was okay. I asked if they did work for non profit charities, whereby they receive tax deductions. The woman immediately and abruptly and almost talking over me said, "You need to go to a low cost spay and neuter clinic". She either wasn't listening or didn't care, and not wanting to believe either was the case, I repeated the question. She then said the same thing and added that I go to Valley Animal Center. Her tone was tense and angry as if I was in her office panhandling for change. I had wondered if she had realized that I was calling as a representative of a non profit organization. And if she knew then, why in God's name would she tell me to go to another non profit? This made no sense. I attempted to rephrase the question, but she talked over me repeating the same words louder, very tense, and angry. It was now clear that she didn't care if I was calling on behalf of the non profit. It was also clear she didn't care about listening or descent customer service. By now I realized I was just dealing with a hard edged person focused on cash. So I said, "You mean you don't care that Fresno shelters have one of the highest kill rates in the State and kill over 90% of their cats?" Then she answered, "It's not OUR PR---- WE DON'T DO THAT!" and hung up on me. I was astonished. I sat there with my mouth open. A place called Cat Hospital has no mercy on feral cats? That's just strange. If they didn't want to perform the services for a tax deduction, then that's okay. But you don't refer a charity to another charity. That's just tacky and in very bad taste. They could have at least handled it politely with a degree of etiquette, but apparently they have no use for etiquette. I was extremely shocked that after I gave them the shelter euthanasia rates their reaction was that it wasn't their problem. Fresno Cat Hospital has no love for cats, and even less love for cat people. They even almost said the shelter cat tragedy isn't their problem. Just remember, when they treat your cat for an illness it's out of love for your cash, not your cat.
