My family has gone to Olive Vet hospital since the 60's, yes he can be very busy, yes he errs on the side of caution and because he does not charge a lot, I get sticker shock when I go other places. I live in Texas now and if I could I would take all my pets to them because I know they will get the best and most humane treatment in town
My family has taken all of our dogs and cats to Olive Vet for many years, first to Dr. Suda senior and now to his son, Michael. I have been to Vets in other cities but have never experienced the excellent care that Dr. Michael gives to our pets and he has never over billed as so many local Vets do. He has a very busy practice as there are obviously many people who recognize an excellent Vet and person. Also, Maggie and David who work in the office are always just as pleasant and helpful. I' ve been taking our dog and cat to Mike Suda for 4 years on the recommendation of a friend who's been going for ages. I think he's wonderful. He's always seemed genuinely concerned about our animals, has treated them promptly and competently, and doesn't set his prices at a level that it makes you nervous to take a pet in - in fact I can think of 2 or 3 times he's not charged us at all for a visit. He's also been very helpful over the phone; my dog swallowed something potentially harmful, and a call to poison control would have cost me $50-60 - Dr. Suda talked me through what to do, and calmed me down. I don't know if he's taking new patients or not (some of these comments make me wonder), but if you need a vet, I would definitely see if you can get on his books. Can't praise highly enough.
Dr. Suda was recommended to me by two different people who didn't know each other. He keeps your pets best interest in mind and his prices are very reasonable. For vaccination visits, he doesn't charge an office fee on top of the vaccination fee. When I called around, I found that he charged less for vaccinations than all of the vets that I spoke with (including the SPCA). During my puppy's first visit, he talked to me about the breed and answered all of my questions. He will err on the side of caution when it comes to your pet. Just a warning: he does get busy. If you are walking in, it is a good idea to call first.
What gives? Turning an out of town walk in for a quick skin irritation check up while you don't have a line out the door? In this economy I'd assume you be chomping at the bit for new business, especially potential recurring business for new patients.
