From: Nate and Shane. To: Bernie, Perry, Nat and Kat. I love you Aunt Bernie and Uncle Perry very much, you are both brilliant Doctors Of Veterinary Medicine. I know this from seeing you work at the Animal Hospital in Hemet C.A. In our family, I look up to you and admire you both. My cousins Natalie and Katherine are an inspiration. The most cherished memories in my life are of our entire family together during Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays every year. I love you all dearly! Hope to hear from you sometime soon... Nate :)
I brought my cat here barely breathing, I had an appointment, but was 1/2 an hour early because he started to go downhill very quickly. I was sobbing when I walked through the doors with him in my arms. I was told it would be $300 for an emergency visit, although technically I was just early for an appointment. The staff at the front desk were completely cold and uncaring. I was showed into a room ( no ER fee thank GOD) and a young woman vet came in. the took his temp & x-rays. They then took me in a room and the young vet proceeded to push the theory that he had heart failure down my throat. I mean she kept pushing it, and pushing it. He had fluid in his lungs, and I asked if it was maybe a respiratory infection, she said it was a small possibility. They put him in a warmer, and on oxygen for an hour, and gave him a shot of Lasix. The only good thing is they didn't charge me for the oxygen or warmer, which they were going to charge me $100 for. They sent him home with antibiotics, and Lasix. His breathing got better over a couple of days, but he was still sick. The Vet had called the next day, and was once again pushing heart failure down my throat, and telling me he needed an echocardiogram. Something felt wrong to me, so I took him in for a second opinion @ AVL Animal Hospital. The staff was very warm, and welcoming, Very caring. The Vet, Dr. Jonston, was extremely thorough,. He spent an unknown amount of time listening to his heart, going over his x-rays, and DID BLOOD WORK. ( Hemet Animal Hospital never even offered it). Come to find out, my cat was in severe KIDNEY failure, and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with his heart!! He had a prognosis of 24-48 hours to live. Well, The Dr gave me a treatment plan, and said if he made it through the weekend getting subQ fluids every 12 hours, then his prognosis may start to look up. Well, here we are, about 3 weeks later and he is back to his normal self. I still have to give him fluids every 12 hours because he has Kidney disease, but he is now in the hands of a good vet. The Lasix that Hemet Animal Hospital put him on almost killed him. He was overdosed. I was so pissed off, that I didn't call them when we got his diagnosis, but THEY called me the next day, and I informed them what had happened. The vet from there never even called me back to apologize. My experience there was horrific. Others may have a good experience, but I had to share mine.
If you can wait until the owner gets past her ego venting, then she'll happily take your money, even when it's obvious to her that a pet isn't going to make it. Verbally attacking customers is never a good idea, and is certainly unprofessional. My daughter spent over $300 only to have her pet die less than an hour after being seen. The kind and compassionate thing to do would have been to tell her that our pet was too far gone, and to make him comfortable and say her good-byes rather than insisting on tests that would serve useless and cause him more pain, and still no concrete diagnosis.
Very nice staff, got me in same day but the services were very expensive compared to my regular vet.
My family and I just moved to the area a few months ago. My dog was not feeling well so we needed to find a vet asap. We looked online ( great website !!!) and found this vet. Everything was explained to me in great detail. The vet wanted to run a few tests and I was ok with that, I just wanted to know what was wrong. They sent me home with some medication to treat his symptoms. They even called me that night to check on him - I thought that was awesome. The vet personally called me back the next morning and discussed the results. It may be a tough road ahead for buster but I know that with the help of this vet it will be ok
