I brought my dog in to get some work done the other day and part of the procedure included getting his blood drawn. I came to pick him up and found a nasty bruise on his neck. The vet explained to me that, like humans, sometimes this can happen when blood is drawn. Yet, he did his best to play it off with some fast-talk (I was in sales so I can easily recognize this) and without EVER admitting any fault on his part. Thinking about this logically, a dog (or anybody) gets a bruise from something like this either when they jerk suddenly or the person administering it fails to apply enough pressure to prevent leakage. My dog had to be knocked out for the procedure he went in for so he couldn't have jerked. This only leaves the second cause. As a professional, I think he should be able to take a little more responsibility for his mistake/incompetence. At first I liked this vet, but the more I visit him the more I wonder about how good he really is. I don't think I will be returning after this shady experience.
My family has taken our cats and dogs to Dr. Lee for more than 20 years. Dr. Lee and his staff have provided outstanding medical care, comfort and compassion to our pets and family over the years. Under his care our shepherd/husky mix, a previously abused neglected adoptee, lived to the ripe old age of 14. When I had to have my 20 year old cat euthanized (he'd been with me since I was 12 years old), Dr. Lee said a prayer with my Brother and I. I've been living in Seattle for a year now and have yet to find a vet comparable to Dr. Lee.
It's true. Dr. Lee's animal hospital has amazing energy! One of my cats hates going to the vet and even growls at me every time. As soon as we arrive, she's contently purring and peaceful. Even I feel the peace. After he draws blood she plops herself on the table, stretches out and starts purring up a storm, as if she were at home. She has never done this at any animal hospital. This is the only vet she has seen (and she's seen many) that she likes. His office is impeccably clean and quiet! Dr. Lee is unbelievably gentle when handling my pets. He even talks to them to let them know what he is doing. I couldn't have asked for anyone to treat my furry kids as well as I do. Most vets will not give you more than a few minutes to explain things but he does, in great detail! I leave his office well informed. If you call him, he will take the time to answer any and all questions. He will call to check up on your pet. He even made a house call years ago to put one of my cats to sleep. : ( That was priceless. It's obvious he is in it for the love of animals. Worth every penny and the 20 minute drive!!!! Thank you Dr. Lee!
