I have used this vet since 1997 and I always recommend them when asked. They have several doctors on staff so getting an appointment is very easy. I've had a chance to use most all of the doctors and they all have been wonderful to deal with. The rest of the staff is great as well. They are super helpful! Most have worked there for a long time which for me is a sign that it's a great place. Their love and compassion for all animals really shows. Love them all!!
I love LHAH and all of the doctors and staff. Everyone is friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about treating animals. This is the only place I ever want to take my dog and the only place I will board him. We have experienced surgeries, boarding, well-checks, having to let our pet go, and everything in between over the years and it has always been the perfect experience. I just can't say enough positive things about LHAH!!
We brought our 11 1/2 yr. old yellow lab., Kona, in to see Dr. Sultzer. He had some "major" fatty cysts (one the size of a large orange!) and a cracked/fractured tooth. Prior to surgery, Dr. Sultzer called with the results of the pre-op EKG....Kona had shown evidence of PVC (premature ventricular contraction) indicating possible heart or gastro-intestinal issues. He suggested chest x-rays and also did an abdominal x-ray, "just to make sure" everything was okay. When we got the all clear, Dr. Sultzer proceeded with the surgery with the assistance of techs. Johnna and Josh. Between the cyst removals and the tooth extraction, Kona was "under" for over 3 hours and they kept me apprised throughout. I cannot say enough nice things about all three of them. Confidence, consideration and great care.....I can't say enough about this kind of teamwork. Thank you, thank you for each of your contributions to the well being of my "baby." Kona thanks you too! :)
I took my cat in for a dental issue. Was told she had a couple bad teeth that needed to be pulled and also convinced me that she needed a full dental cleaning. I questioned it a little as my cat was 13 and I did not want to put her through anything unnecessary. But was told this was best. The cost for everything was more than I could afford. But I had to manage for my sweet girl. 2 weeks after her procedure she still was acting like her mouth was bothering her and she was not eating well. An assistant looked at her first as the vet was taking care of an emergency, she said her mouth looked ok just try different food. I insisted on waiting for the Dr. as I knew my cat and it was not right. The dr then looked at her mouth and noticed a protruding mass where the teeth were pulled. After testing it turns out she had a sarcoma in her gums and that's what was causing the trouble. I ended up having to put her down as she was suffering. My issue with this whole situation is the dr missing this and taking every cent I had for an unnecessary procedure. Yes they were very apologetic for my loss, and the dr seemed really compassionate. Which is why 2 stars instead of 1. But no one apologized for the misdiagnosis or even tried to right it somehow. In fact they put their hand out one last time for a few hundred more dollars to euthanize her. I just think this could have been handled a lot better. I understand veterinary care is expensive and they deserve it for the care they give our furbabies. But sometimes it can't be all about the money and we need to take some responsibility when we make a mistake.
I have had two cats with serious illnesses which I have taken to the clinic. Both were successfully treated and have recovered. The staff is kind and supportive. The vets are excellent, both knowledgeable and patient in explaining information about the condition and answering questions.Their office system works well, providing a warm atmosphere, good communication and convenience. I am grateful that they are a part of our community.
